Modify front cargo box on my 19

Hi everyone,
We have a front cargo box on our Escape 19. I'd like to modify it to make the base level with the battery base and eliminate the little drop on each side.
When the box wraps around the frame each molded side drops down a few inches and creates an awkward storage space. I'd like to modify it and flatten the space, perhaps hinge it so that seldom used items can be stored below with still having a flat surface across the whole box.
I think this makes sense....I'm sure I'm not the only one to want to do this so maybe someone could share links of previous posts.
Thanks
JeffO

I don't recall anyone doing this before. You might have an original mod in the making.

I guess it depends on the type of specific items you want to place in the box. For me the deeper areas work well.

Thanks Ron. What annoys me is the rounded bottom at the sides of the box. It makes it hard to stack my blocks and other outside setup things.
I'm pondering some ideas and if I get started I'll start a thread to document progress.
