Beeping noise near roof

I thought I'd post this since it drove me crazy to find this noise. I kept hearing a beeping outside my trailer. it sounded like it was coming from the AC unit.

Ultimately I traced this to the wind sensor in my powered awning. There are two batteries in the sensor attached to the awning, when they get low they start to beep. To replace, extend the awning, slide the sensor to the left to release and then replace the batteries.

What size batteries for this eventuality?

I wish I had read your post earlier! That beep has had me puzzled for the last year, wondering if it was from my rig, or the next one in the storage lot! Finally found it yesterday, just as you described. Was about to post about it, when I found your post.

Add to the "DeWinterization Instructions", replace awning and smoke detector batteries and test before use.

Been searching all over the camper for where the beep was coming from, the awning was one of my guesses. Thanks for solving my mystery. when it stops raining I'll replace the batteries.

Beeping Sound / Beeping Noise

Thanks for the post…..It’s 4:00a.m.& 45 deg F which is cold for us in north central Florida. I arrived at the farm and heard a beeping sound. I could not track it down for the life of me so I came inside and Googled “Beeping sounds and Escape RV Trailer”.
Viola! There it was… The awning motion detector.

Now I can sleep 💤

Thank you for your post!

Came home from work and heard a beeping coming from the camper. Next morning I heard it again and said ahh, i must need to replace the door lock batteries. Popped the door lock batteries out, closed the door, started walking away and heard the beeping again. Went in the camper but the beeping was outside. Somewhere in the back of my mind I remembered late last fall while purusing the escapeforum wishing it was still camping weather that someone else heard beeping. Searched for beeping and here I am. Mystery solved.

The Maxfan can beep and so can the smoke detector. I'd include the propane detector but that is usually mounted down low.

I don't if this has happened to anyone else........with dogs. My propane detector went off, I walked by it to check burners(hadn't used in 2 days?). Walked passed a dog under it & a dog fart! Chased dog out & open window. Stopped.
