Full tank, no propane

The other day I thought I'd run out of propane, and figured I'd forgotten to refill after switching over. Both tanks showed empty.

Today I removed them to take to fill. One tank was empty, The other one feels completely full,

I put it back on and set the lever to its side and slowly turned on the propane. Nothing. No red.

Thought maybe it needed to try to flow first, so turned on (or attempted to turn on) the heater. Nothing. It won't run, confirming that it is not getting propane.

It worked fine on that tank a month ago (or later). Any suggestions? I have not tried the stove as I don't want to turn it on though it may come down to that

I'm going to refill the other bottle and see if it works (shows green and gives me propane.)

Well, turned off for awhile, very slowly back on, got it to work. I guess I wasn't waiting long enough before.

Don’t feel like the Lone Ranger. This happens to me on my big Weber grill, my 11 lb tank
on the Weber Q and on the Escape many times per season.. even though I say easy does it all the time I don’t follow my own advice.

I didn't try that the other day when I ran out- just assumed I hadn't replaced it after Maryhill. But apparently I did. But did try opening slowly several times- the trick seems to be letting it sit first.

Yup that too. Can’t get in a hurry.

Happens to me too. My troubleshooting steps are to drop the full tank on the ground a few times to jolt it a bit, switch the full switch between the two tanks, and closing the opposite tank’s valve. Some combination of that ends up with propane flowing again. It’s less fun at 3am than daylight.
