The chip in question is cheap and easy to purchase. There are 4 (?) of the same chip on the board and it would be easier to just replace all of them rather than trying to trace one wire thru all the circuits without proper instruments. But the stumbling block is trying to unsolder old chips. That also would be a real pain without proper tools. Do I hear "my son is an electrical engineer" opening up a side gig repairing boards for Escape owners??
While my son did map the board and it is obvious which chip goes with which function, he had one of his lab techs unsolder the chip and put the new one in. He can solder quite well but to the best of my knowledge, he doesn’t want to start a side business. He spends much of his free time playing ice hockey in the adult (no checking) league where he lives. I guess he prefers a hockey stick to a soldering iron!

My sensors have not worked proper since new. The grey always shows full and the battery sensor shows full charge when the BMS shows totally different.

Thumbs down

Gray and black tank gauges are typically not correct due to build up in the tanks. There can be problems, but often it’s just tank build up. They can be cleaned, but sometimes it takes a bit to get the black tank sensors to work well. The battery issue, we’d need more info to resolve. My simple GoPower monitor and my SeeLevel gauges are close, but not always exactly the same. I have not yet installed a BMS in my trailer.

You didn't mention what chemistry your batteries are. If Lithium then they will probably show "full" on the simple LED panel (next to the black-grey-fresh LEDs). The reason is that Lithium voltage does not fall off like lead-acid batteries - which is one of the very nice aspects of Lithium. But that means that voltage is extremely difficult to use as a measure of State-Of-Charge.
