Hubcaps

Any replacement for the plastic hubcaps? They’re bound to break one of these days. Of course, baby moons would be the coolest…

They are lot tougher than one might think.
I’ve had the white and the “Chrome” on the 19 and no oroblem with them or the center insert on the shiny wheels on the 21. No problem with them either. I think e trailer might have some models too.

Ditto about them being tougher than they look.

They do yellow with age. Spraying them keeps them looking nice and white.

We had the while ones originally on the 19. The original owners had added chrome Beira rings on the white wheels. Looked pretty sharp. Then at a rally someone put a set of free shiny caps on the tarp. I picked them up and changed out the white ones. At the next rally I put the white ones out. Gone in 60 seconds as they say. Krylon Fusion white is a good overcoat for the white ones.

If you do need a spare, etrailer has these for 4 1/2 x 5 wheels. $12 ea. There are probably others out there in white.

The hubcaps on my 2014 Escape 21 are still going strong after 70,000+ miles. They have yellowed, though.

So I assume they can be painted any color. Next question: what about painting the steel wheels?

Steel rims;
Power coat would be best, then Emron paint, maybe appliance spray paint.
The problem with regular Krylon paint is it will scratch pretty easy. You could touch them up ever so often as they get scratched.

I painted our plastic hubcaps to match our stripes. They were way too white.

I remembering seeing someone had chrome baby moons on theirs.
