Lack of backsplash
Just contacted Escape, we can’t add a backsplash behind kitchen sink/faucet after built. Water drains to wall terribly. Anyone found something that works besides a towel that gets soaked??

Of course, you can add a backsplash! Here is a link to a thread that discusses installing an adhesive backed backsplash.

ps. Keep in mind that you can add leveling blocks when you park to tilt your trailer so that the countertop is level. That would help.

Many of us have done adhesive but there are some who have found ways to do formica as well. Most of us interfaced with the existing 5" or so low formica sorround that used to be provided. I assume based on your post that you do not have this. You would just bring your material down to the counter and run a bead of clear caulk which would keep water from getting in between the counter and vinyl. I don't know why Escape stopped offering the backsplash with the maple interior. Now for 2021 I hear that all models will not have a backsplash regardless of interior. They apparently have an optional stainless steel backsplash that is available now.

I read that the SS backsplash is really looks like SS plastic. I think I would go with formica - it would hold up better over time. I expect my Escape to last 30 years and try to install stuff that will last that long.

Don't believe everything you read. I have it in my Escape 19 and it looks like nice thick stainless steel to me. Perhaps the person saying that was seeing it when it still had the protective plastic sheet on it? (like in the first photo)
The reason it can't be retrofitted, is it goes between the countertop and the wall. If it were not a decent thickness, the insulation and padded vinyl would cause it to bend at the edge of the countertop.

It's hard to tell from the build photos. These are the two earliest build photos of the interior that I received for my Escape 19.
The kitchen counter goes where the orange level is leaning.
