Ed, I like your idea of attaching an easy to reach extra battery in a holder but I don't know much about electricity so don't know where to solder the two wire leads to the ignition. I took off the stove top this morning, 11 screws. It was not too bad, and hopefully I only need to replace the battery once a year or two years.
