Problems with exterior door
Hello all,
Wondering if you have any insight into a problem that we are having with our door before we haul it out to Escape for some input. Our door has never been easy to shut, and now that we are using it more regularly it is getting worse. We bought the trailer new in 2018, and then in 2019 took it back to Escape as there was noticeable daylight coming in the top of the screen door- it was crooked. They said all you can do is bend it back, but it didn’t really fix the problem. We noticed that the door plate for the main door was sliding on the frame, so tightened the screws, but still no difference. You can see in the attached photos that the plate seems to be crooked relative to the door frame. When we shut it with force, it does shut and latch, but then the bottom of the door is noticeably not lining up and we have to almost tuck it in to the door frame or it sticks out. When we do that, we see that it is scraping the door frame at the bottom by the two screws that are on the bottom of the door. Additionally, despite there still being daylight at the top of the screen door, there are noticeable marks where the door is hitting the top of the frame. If you move the screen door independently of the main door, there is some up and down play in it, but the screws seem more like a rivet style that can’t be tightened. In addition, when the doors are latched together, there is more space between the screen door and main door at the bottom than the top. Any ideas of what to adjust? Excuse our dirty trailer, it hasn’t had its bath since arriving home yesterday. Thanks in advance.
