Range Hood, do you use it or not?
Saw a picture of a 21 without the range hood and it and looked really good so my question is how many actually use your range hood....
Thanks

Yes, I do use it. I prefer the moisture, etc. to move quickly out the trailer rather than up over the cabinets and ceiling to the roof fan.

We use ours . . . for fridge magnets, but that's because we mostly cook outside and, in any event, I've forgotten to open the vent.
Still, I'd rather have it than not on our 17B.

Have it, haven't used it, but then again, haven't taken delivery of the trailer.

I was debating that issue with my upcoming 19 build, but I solved all of those thorny, stress-inducing moments by buying one already built! (I would put a funny icon here, but I couldn't figure out how...)

The moisture path was one of the variables we considered. In our case, we were not ordering the AC and in its place we added a (second) Maxx fan. It is only a couple of feet away from the stove and should do the job. Love the open look gained by not having the hood and AC intrude into the cabin.
Looks like the vote is about 50/50.

And, that depends on the trailer. In my 17B the stove is next to the shower wall, so the hood makes no difference.
Note fridge magnets.

We cook outside most of the time and the Maxxfan, even with just one, is only a couple feet away. If you are an inside cook, it might be more worthwhile.
We had one in our previous trailer and never used it, mainly because it was god awful noisy. Besides the fan noise, the outside plastic locking vent flap kept breaking. In 8 years I replaced it twice, and it was broken again when I sold it, this without being used. Don't know if ETI uses the same but I've never seen a different option. When given the option we went without. Main downside of not having the vent, nowhere to stick little magnets like the ones shown in gbaglo's picture.
ETI gave us a 3rd light instead. In hindsight I would have had them NOT add the light and left the room for a paper towel rack. As it is, I removed it and did such. I still have the wires sticking out it's hole as I'm hesitant to cut them.
Image of the vent that kept breaking, it was the little plastic pins that the vent pivots on. Mine was white.

I have to admit the outside vent is really cheesy. It's the standard in the RV industry. I know Casita manufacturing has changed to a different one, a tad bit larger and sleeker looking. I suppose when the time comes for a replacement I may give it a try. I wonder what Airstream uses? Metal perhaps? The next time I see an Airstream I'll check it out. Metal would be the UV solution.

When Escape stopped installing the awning type kitchen window I had to figure out a way to allow fresh air in the unit on rainy days and I just prop open the vent flap, it has it's own rain protection. Just have to remember to secure that flap before travel. But the stove vent allows the use of the maxxfan during those rainy, stuffy days/nights.

Ditto that,
On a couple of cool mornings boiling water for tea, we forgot to turn on the range fan and it was amazing how quickly the windows fogged up and we have the insulated windows.

Ditto that, but it's the steam setting off the smoke alarm that gets me out of bed before I've had my first cup of coffee.
