Since the trailer and its manuals are not here I need to ask some questions of the community?
1. Where do I place the jack in order to lift the trailer?
2. It is my understanding that the spare tire is a road tire exactly like the other two, not a “ balloon” tire for temporary use only. Am I correct?

The spare on my 17A is a regular road tire just like the others. I'd swap that with the leaking tire. It will make it easier to get repaired and you won't have to take the trailer.
The jack should be placed so it lifts from the frame. I usually do it in front of the axle. Don't put the jack under the axle or trailing arm. I jack from in front of the tire because the frame is 4". The frame behind the axle is 3". It may be OK to use the 3" I just prefer jacking from the 4" frame. Make sure the opposite wheel is blocked and the tongue jack is firmly on the ground. Attaching your hitch to the TV will insure the trailer won't move and shouldn't interfere with jacking up one side.
Inflate the tire to 50 psi cold inflation and properly torque the lug nuts to recommended specifications. Recheck after a few hundred miles.
