Ugly Liner Ripple

We received our brand new 5.0 last week and were so excited. Unfortunately the liner above the door has a 2 foot ripple and there is also a 6 inch ripple near the foot of the bed on the wall. We contacted Escape and were surprised to have them say “too bad, that happens sometimes”. Has any one else had this type of problem and lack of response? Most importantly, any ideas how to fix Escapes attitude and the ripple?

That’s so unlike ETI who at ETI told you “ too bad, that happens sometimes”. I would of thought they would have suggestion on how to correct these 2 ripples

Since you live approx 1800 miles from Chiliwack BC and Escape apparently doesn’t consider it to be an issue, you have two choices , live with it or try fixing it yourself .
For me it’s been easier and less frustrating to just fix the problems myself and go on to more important / productive endeavors but it took me awhile to figure that out .
Thankfully it is only cosmetic and not a major problem that denies you the use of your trailer
Good luck and I hope you get it fixed to your satisfaction!

I find that statement rather insulting . The OP made a statement and I have no reason to question her honesty .
If you wish to encourage participation in this forum that’s not the way to accomplish your goal IMHO

I was not dismissing Escape from their responsibility under the warranty !
I was only being practical .
The notion that one has to prove her statement by posting a picture just strikes me as wrong.
Whether I think it is a major or minor issue has no value or bearing on the Validity of the OP’s statement

It has a bearing for everybody else who is reading this thread. I want to see for myself before I start posting my opinion on what can or should be done.

Hi: gbaglo... I'm sorry... but I have to agree with you!!! Did the OP send pic's to ETI?
In certain lights the ceiling of our trailer looks very mottled from the double insulation under the liner!!! I'd need to see pic's before passing judgement on theirs. Alf

Maybe it happens maybe it doesn’t. Let’s see a picture as it may tell more of the story

Maybe that review of how to take and post photos is in order? Anyone have it handy?

I would say you have an issue and would expect ETI to take care of it under warranty. Send your pix on to Karl and report back.

An issue for sure, yet ETI has always exempted "cosmetic" problems. We- and others have had a defect in the fiberglass around the door. Didn't have it on our 17. Their response wasn't "too bad"- it was "unfortunately this sometimes happens and there is nothing that can be done". Kinda same as too bad- just a little more polite. Outcome is same: live with it.

With the headliner, it can be fixed, and am sure there would be a better chance of it being done if it was by ETI. We had gaps at corners and seeing light above the headboard area of bed due to defect and they did fix when we brought it back just before two year mark.

The OP's defect shows a defect in ETI QC as it is so obvious.

This happened to my brother inlaw also. Escape said to bring it it and they would fix it. The repair job was not great. They were unhappy but did not want to drive it back a second time. It was under 6 months old at the time. When you buy new you should get a trailer that has passed quality check.
