water puddling on roof ?

on our 21' classic (2014), if the trailer is level, water puddles on the roof on either side of the raised section, and leaves water marks and stains when it evaporates.

is this normal? I would have expected it to be molded so the water would run off and not sit up there. When I wash teh trailer, I have to jack the nose way up to get all the water to run off the back.

Cant say for sure; ours is usually slightly nose down while parked then very nose down when washing. With those upper tail lights prone for leaking due to warping on the Gen1 like ours it seems best not to allow water to run off the back.

Also, am thinking it best to have a tilt towards awning side while stored so condensate doesn't constantly drip off the driver's side but instead to the passenger and then run down the small awning piece towards the front.

It is even worse with the new edition. I wish they had built a b it of slope in the mold. Lowering the trailer to hook up after a rain can be exciting!

Hey, that's the Escape's "outdoor shower" feature!

Same issue with water collecting on mine. Most annoying while camped when it is not possible to level nose down. One of those minor design problems. Another one is the manual awning. Mine cannot be in the rain and furled without getting wet. This is especially the case while driving. It seems mine has a constant area of mildew toward the front. It easily washes off.

Both these are those minor annoyances that every product has.

Don't sweat the small stuff!

Yes, I've notice this same issue on my 17 B and have recently started to park it a bit nose down.

Thanks for mentioning it's best not to park it nose up due to the known taillight issue.

Didn't even think about this, could be a good trick to play on my wife on a hot summer day! She'd get me back when I'm most vulnerable though to one-up me.

...And equally exciting when raising the tongue to hook up (after using the air conditioner) and your partner is standing in the back...and gets a surprise shower! That's when we discovered A) the air conditioner condensation drips out onto the trailer roof and B) when perfectly level, water (from the AC or rain) pools on top! Another reason, after every trip, I like to quick wash and spray wax the top to make sure the 'pooling' areas have a good coat of wax to prevent staining. -Bea

Same issue with our 2014 21'! I store it level until winter when I lower the nose to prevent the puddles forming ... A minor annoyance with an otherwise great trailer!
