Winterizing solar panel

I have 2020 17B escape with 190 watt solar panel. I have been reading different ways of how to prepare the solar panel for the winter. Can I just disconnect the battery and leave battery disconnect off for the winter and not the solar panel wires? Also must I cover the solar panel. New to solar panel winterizing.

I left the batteries in both my 17 & 21 with the battery disconnect switch open & the solar connected. No problems with the solar controller overcharging the batteries.

For 2 winters I had a cover on the 17 & enough sunlight got through the cover & snow to keep the batteries full. I would check them for state of charge & fluid level every month or so...

Thanks for the advice, I guess I can just leave it as is for the winter.

I've left my panel in the ON position, batteries installed, for 5 Colorado winters now - making sure the cutoff switch was in the OFF position. (Cutoff switch isolates the solar & batteries from all other trailer electronics. A fully charged lead-acid battery is protected from freezing.)

I have the same experience with my calmark cover. The batteries retain the charge through the cover.
