I didn't but I debated doing so. In the end we only cut one tire and wouldn't have needed the second spare. But if you're in the middle of nowhere and have to use your spare tire it would be nice...

Seriously? And the second spare was unusable because the flailing cords from the first cut it up.

There are a lot of things that can be left at home but a spare isn't one of them.
