Can't find that on the Carlisle website. In any case, it's designed to perform up to it's speed rating.
We try to keep it 65mph or under, even on interstates - not because the tires can't handle it, but for fuel economy.

I'm now confused on proper/best tire inflation pressure. At orientation we were told to inflate the tires to 50psi even though their stated max inflation is 65psi. I understand vehicles should be inflated to the door sticker pressure regardless of the tire stated max pressure but I don't find any such sticker on our 19. Max inflated tires will roll easier and generate a little less heat but will also ride harder and bounce more than lower pressure tires. Can anyone share their wisdom or help clarify this for me please?

Doug - do you know if your tires are C or D load rated ones? It will be stamped on the tire.

If these are ST tires in the stock size, and have a maximum inflation pressure of 65 psi, the Load Range will be "D".

The higher maximum inflation pressure of the Load Range D tire does not change the relationship of pressure to load capacity, or provide any reason for more inflation pressure. If 50 psi is right for an ST205/75R15 Load Range C tire on this trailer, and that tire was not overloaded, 50 psi will still be right for an ST205/75R15 Load Range D tire on this trailer.

That's right. We've run ours at 50 PSI since the day we took delivery.

Brian I am still confused . If our tires say max 65 lbs shouldn't you put more air then 50 lbs in them ? Pat

You'll get a little more bounce, but 60 PSI is within the max.

I don't feel comfortable driving at more than 60-65mph pulling the trailer, regardless of what else the traffic is doing or if the speed limit is higher. I figure many of those idiots going way faster (and towing) are just organ donors on wheels. Unfortunately it might not be them that become organ donors, but others that are involved in their accidents.
It was nice when I was towing in CA. All of the signage on the interstate said speed limit of 65 and then there was further signage for vehicles with 3 or more axles, including those towing. Speed limit was 55. Yay! I was legally entitled to go slower.

I’m running 62 psi on my 21 tires which are 65 lbs max also. I usually run 62 mph or so once in a while a little faster . From what I can tell I am loaded in the midrange of 21 weights at around 3800 to 4000 lbs. Even loading and regular pressure checks and on the tandem axle, rotation, have allowed excellent tire wear and performance for me. Growing up some kids had dads who had a pocket protector in their shirt pocket, to protect from pen leakage. My dad wore pockets out in his shirts from where the Schrader tire pressure tester snapped in and out over the hem. My mom darned in a patch to extend the life. Someday I’m gonna write a book “ Son of a Standard Oil Man”.

I'm pretty sure they are still using Carlisles, and that whoever the OP spoke to at Escape was mistaken. Going by the "It's Friday" thread photos, here's one of a completed 5.0TA (October) belonging to Gary from Haslet TX. The spare is clearly a Carlisle Radial Trail.

I think that Escape went to Carlyle’s as early as the Fall of 13 when the 21s came out because our previous owner AZJack paid for the changeover to Marathons when he ordered one of the first twenty ones built.
Yes Glenn that’s the pencil type tire tester all the service station guys had then. Customers would occasionally have my Dad order one for them from one of our suppliers. Saved them a trip to the store, got the jobber discount, cemented friendships.

That's what I always did, till I encountered some of the 75 and 80 mph highways. I'm not comfortable driving too slow either.
