Overall length of 5.0 with Toyota Tundra 5.5' bed
Does anyone know the overall combined length of a 1/2 ton pickup with a 5.0 attached? I ordered my 5.0 but... it's going to be a while.
I know my truck is 19' long. And the trailer is 21' long, but how much is overlapped in the bed?
Thanks in advance.

Wallace, my new 5.0 rig you looked at in Bastrop: - 1/2 ton truck is 19'-2" bumper-to-bumper ('05 F150 supercab with 6-1/2ft box)
- total rig length with 5.0 is 36 ft (truck front bumper to back of spare tire on trailer)
- The trailer spare is 6" behind the trailer bumper (subtract 1/2 ft from above for rig bumper-to-bumper length)
Note that any 'rig length' you get may vary a few inches +/- depending on the hitch location in the bed / relative to the truck rear bumper. Mine, as you may recall, is an Andersen Gooseneck mount on a turnoverball in the truck bed.
Have Fun!

Yes sir. I lived in and around Oregon and Washington for 19 years. Years ago I took the Ferry from Vancouver BC to Victoria. Never did it with a trailer though, so new experience. Congrats on your new trailer... almost!

My half-ton is a Silverado, and mine is the same overall length as Alan's, 36 feet. A little longer if I'm carrying my bike on the back. Note that it may depend on exactly how your hitch is setup...I'm using the Andersen Ultimate with the 4" ball extension.
This is one of the reasons I love the 5.0, i.e. the overall length is much shorter than a travel trailer of the same size...you can fit well in so many situations, including double parking spaces in parking lots!

Yep, and no surprise, that ~4 ft difference is the 5.0 'overlap' on the tow vehicle.
Each has different pros and cons (not "better" or "worse"), no worries, having a choice is good, each owner has their own preferences and needs

When I order my 21 I was unsure of my tow vehicle having a 2000 tundra with a rusty frame. I went back and forth. So I ordered the 21 and wouldn’t you know it I found an immaculate 2004 f150 rwd super cab with 37,000 miles on it, a perfect vehicle for a 5.0. When we picked it up in 2017, I looked at my partner and said damn I wish I would have ordered that one. But my trusty 21 has been a good haul. Next time perhaps, or a 23 or a Bigfoot 25? One never knows

Actually, the 5.0TA is a couple of inches longer than the 21, measured front to back on the fiberglass surfaces. But hitching in the bed of the truck creates a (approximate) 4-foot overlap as Alan has stated.
My F-150 SuperCab (6-1/2 foot bed) is the same length as a Crew Cab with a 5-1/2 foot bed. However, in line with previous posters, I have measured my truck/trailer to be 36-feet overall. But, for the OP, keep in mind that if you have a luggage rack or a bicycle rack, it will (obviously) longer. I have a fold-up aluminum luggage rack that in the upright position, adds about 1-foot to the overall length.

Does anyone have a 5.5’ bed tundra with the Anderson hitch and a 5.0?
I’m getting ready to buy a tundra and would prefer the 5.5’ bed. I’ve already got the 5.0 and the Anderson.

Yes I do. I believe my overall length is 35 (+/-) feet. You do have to watch turning with a short bed. But I love mine. It fits in any two parking bays.

36 feet with a double cab Tundra. 6.6 bed. I carry the one up bike rack with two bikes on the back. Depending if they measure it at the BC Ferry terminal I can be charged for 39 feet. Varies every time.

I am surprised that no one has posted the length from the centerline of the 5th wheel pin to the rear of the 5.0. (or is that adjustable on the pin box??).
With that piece of info, then whatever the tow dimensions are, from front to centerline of 5th wheel jaw (for all the myriad of tow and 5th wheel location combinations), it's a simple addition problem.
(It may be more complex than that, but what do I know, I'm a receiver/ball mount/tongue coupler puller!)

Call it ~20'+10" center of kingpin to back of bumper, add 6" to back of spare (I didn't use a plumb-bob for exactitude ).
That's a 'fixed' horizontal dimension, it doesn't change when you move the pinbox from "Standard" to "Extended" position, which refers to a vertical adjustment.
Have Fun!
