RV parks near Seattle Washington
We plan to slowly start our way home after staying in Canada for a few nights.
We would like to stay in the Seattle area for at least a few nights so we can day trip to National Parks close by.
We are looking for recommendations.
Thanks!😊

RV parks near Seattle Washington
What National Parks do you want to visit? If you’re thinking about Olympic National Park there are a bunch of great campgrounds, although none are super close to Seattle. I can recommend Salt Creek County CG near Port Angeles (awesome tide pools), Dungeness County CG near Sequim (awesome beach hike on a sand spit that goes a couple miles out) Fort Worden State Park in Port Townsend (PT is a super cool town, one of but two Victorian seaports left in the US, and Ft. Worden is an awesome park with a lot to see just by itself - take a flashlight and go explore the bunkers). There are a lot of other great places to camp as well. Oh, and furthest from Seattle of these, but worth mentioning, on the west side of Olympic National Park is the Hoh CG, in the Hoh rainforest. Spectacular. Wet. Take a ranger tour then hike and explore.
Sorry, but if instead you’re thinking of Rainier NP or North Cascades, I don’t have any camping recommendations, except to check out either the Allstays or Ultimate Campground phone App. Both work well for finding interesting places to camp.

We are picking up our 21’ on Monday, Oct. 29 and planning staying at Larabee State Park near Bellingham. Haven’t been there yet but it looks like good spot for a base while we check out the trailer and explore. I’ll report back in a couple days.

There are just not many choices for places to stay in the Seattle area. We have stayed multiple times at the Seattle/Tacoma KOA in Kent (south end of Seattle). It is a noisy place and the park is nothing to write home about but they do have hookups. I have heard from friends that Gig Harbor RV Resort is nice but it is across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge which can be a tough go in traffic. Lake Pleasant RV Park in Bothell gets good reviews but we have never stayed there. Bothell is north end of Seattle metro area.

Larabee State Park is great. Wooded campground with plenty of hiking and close to some beautiful areas including the San Juan Islands and North Cascades.
Deception Pass State Park is awesome with two distinctly different beaches and close to ferries to the Olympic Peninsula and the San Juan Islands.
Salt Creek County Park is beautiful and peaceful as you sit and watch the waters of the Strait of Juan De Fuca. Tide pools are also spectacular.
Lake Sylvia near Olympia is small and quiet as you may watch Osprey and Bald Eagles snatch fish from the lake.
All of these campgrounds have water and electric available with a dump station. If you are looking for full hook-ups, you will need to find and RV park.
Enjoy the Seattle area and congrats on your new Escape.

We have stayed at Lake Pleasant RV Park on our way back from Chilliwack, and it is very nice.

Every fall, there's an egg gathering (SAFE - Seattle Area Fall Event) at Dash Point State Park. It's between Seattle and Tacoma. I've never attended the event and know nothing about the park.

If you want to stay in Sequim, Wa , near the Olympic Nat. Forest. Stay at Gilgal Oasis RV park. Full hookups, great clean showers, club house, dog run,
But is smaller RV park, so call ahead!! We love it there, owners are on site!

I second the recommendation on Gilgal Oasis! We stayed there in ‘16 and loved it. We used the dog park as a human park and had a nice walk. Sequim is also a pleasant, quaint town with lots of options for supplies

You did not say, in your posting, WHEN you are picking up your trailer. It makes a lot of difference if you are planning to visit Seattle and the surrounding area.
The rainy season (daily overcast, drizzle, full-on rain and only very occasional sunny breaks) begins in Seattle, and the Puget Sound area in general, at the end of October and lasts until the end of March. Many of the state parks shut off the campground's water supply, although the water in the campground rest rooms remains on. Also, the majority of county, state, and national parks in the Puget Sound area, with one notable exception, are not within easy driving distance of Seattle, and would not be a good base for day trips into the city.
A notable exception is Fay Bainbridge Park Campground, on Bainbridge Island. It's a 30 minute ferry ride from the city (you'd be advised to leave your car on the island), has superb views of the Seattle skyline, offers beach walking as well as good restaurants in the downtown part of Bainbridge Island, and offers both electrical and dry camping sites. And the sites are all wide open to the sky and sun --- a huge plus during the rainy season.
We live in Seattle and picked up our trailer on August 10. Since then, we've camped in local and state parks many times. Because we're in the Pacific Northwest rainforest, we expected that the campsites would be a little damp (they weren't) but we were a little shocked that they were so dark: the tall coniferous trees surrounding the campsites block almost all natural light until the sun is directly overhead. If you're planning to leave your trailer during the day, and go exploring (as we did), this isn't a problem, but it can be rather a gloomy place to spend the day sitting under a canopy.
We hope you have a wonderful trip!

We stayed 3 nights at Larrabee State Park after picking ours in Chilliwack. It was $30/night full hookup. A number off spaces were open with one bath house open. Train comes through a fair amount but didn’t bother me. Otherwise quiet. Plenty of trails and about 5 mi. to town of Fairhaven, a bit more to Bellingham. Highly recommend.

Just FYI, Sequim is pronounced "squim," NOT "seequim."
And the geoduck clam is pronounced "gooey duck," and not "geo-duck."
It's a lovely place, worthy of a visit.

We were grateful for the excellent cable reception! We spun our television toward our open entry door, and watched the Warriors during the early rounds of the NBA Playoffs. Might have enjoyed a cold beverage under the awning

Another nice park close to Seattle is Manchester State Park. It's midway between Southworth and Bremerton - both of which have ferries to Seattle. There are numerous sites with electricity and water and all of the sites are quite secluded - for a state park, that is.

RV parks near Seattle Washington
We wanted to catch a Mariners game, but didn't want to drive back to BC the same night. We stayed at Salt Water State Park. It was very convenient, but kinda weird: it lies literally under the flight path to SeaTac Airport, so we saw/heard a lot of planes. Price was right for dry camping, and we were able to tough it out for a night. Flight traffic diminishes greatly at night, so overall not a bad one night camp.

Stayed at Lake Pleasant in Bothel twice, a week each time. We would drive to Ballard each day after 9 am and return in the evening after rush hour. 20 miles in less than 30 minutes. Lake Pleasant is a nice, clean urban campground with a mix of long term residents and travelers. Worked perfectly for us until our son and his family moved to San Francisco.

Lake Pleasanton RV park is the best you find near Seattle. They fill up quickly a reservation is recommended. We tried them all and would not stay anywhere else. The Bellevue and Issaquah RV Park are very noisy right next to the highway.
