Is the second line in both listings a misprint as in "2017 features" on a 2016 model body?...or is the 1st line "2016" a misprint?
How does a 2016 model body get 2017 features?
Not sure what they were actually selling in those two direct sales, but I guess whomever bought them knows. However if there were going to be more of these it would be nice to know...

Based solely on the VINs, it appears that the 17' is a factory demonstrator unit, while the 19' is a customer declined purchase unit. I would speculate that Reace used the 17 as a test unit for new features that would apply. --edit: I don't what the current production VINs are?--
As for when they come up for sale, checking the forums several times a day is likely the best bet.

The way I read it is that these models are actually made in 2016 but they're the 2017 design. The 19 with the black graphics was most likely the one I saw in the very early production stage, that was parked outside their building. I took photos and posted 'em here on a separate thread.
If you want to snag one that ETI is selling, you'll need to check this forum massive amounts of times during the day, have quick dialing fingers (have their number already programmed in so you don't have to root around for it) and be sure you have the cash for it. Since they're just coming out of production, you won't have months and months to send them money like you would if you were to order one now and get in the queue for one for next year. Don't rely on sending a msg through this forum or an email - call 'em. Good luck!

I think they were a 2016.5 Way I was reading it was it was a classic shell but had the features list posted for the 2017 including frameless windows which are interchangeable on either apparently. Probably 2016 style awning as that wasn't mentioned.
I guess we'll know soon when the buyers show up.

I was under the impression these were new style 2017 models from the new molds but being the the first run in early 2016 they would be titled as Greg pointed out 2016.5 model. Remember the first Mustang was a 1964.5 model with 1965 being the first full year of production. Similar to prototype units, the first couple of any new model were being used as demo's. Now that they are sold, let's see what year is attached to the next new batch. Perhaps the Dec 1 date for year switchover will be moved up to September similar to the auto industry.

yes as the other posts indicate..also received a clarification from the factory...these were 2017 model designs but produced in year 2016 so they were listed as 2016 Escapes..so apparently a 2017 design produced in 2016 will be sold as 2016 Escape XX as well as what is now a 2016 classic retro model..still somewhat confusing but the production year is correct although the model year is different...so maybe it's best to always post a picture of any 2016 Escape you are selling, especially during the 2016 to 2017 transition!
Perhaps its not to early for a margarita and things will become clearer....

Or, just don't sweat the small stuff.
But then, I am just a laid back redneck hippie.

Yes, I read I that way.
Some people had the choice of the newer 17' features on their 2016.
By the way, people ordering Escapes can save themselves a lot of trouble by having a list of the features and options handy for their model(s) of interest that are seen on the Escape website. There are so many included features and that list has changed but the list is a good start. Then there are the numerous options to keep up on.

new 19 heading for Calgary
Picked up 19 yesterday and heading to Calgary over next week or so. Thank you Dennis at Escape for very thorough introduction to WDH and how to install and use. Quite different from my 17B but like it a lot so far.

Thanks for your advice in the past. The FJ tows the 19 like a dream with the WDH.

Love the vehicle! I really wanted that Voodoo Blue, but they stopped making it for the 2010 FJ I got. I went with Brick Red, which I really like. But, I still gaze after those blue ones.
And it's nice to see it without the graphics. Enjoy!

Yes the Voodoo Blue was the only option for me. Got one of the first ones to arrive in Calgary, it has 231,000 km on it and going strong.
