Latest Photos of my Escape!
Happened to run across a newer satellite map that shows my Escape 17B on my Ozarks property. The purple area is my 96.3 acres and, see that little white dot in the upper left corner of the field? That is my trailer! I now have a new gate and gravel drive that comes off the road more in the center of the property and a trailer pad and two posts with hookups for up to four trailers.
The area east of the green line is National Park Service/Ozark National Scenic Riverways. South of the blue line is all owned by MO Department of Conservation and includes the area where they have reintroduced wild elk to MO. I found elk tracks on my road last week.
My friends who own the acreage between me and the NPS land work for NPS (fire ecologist) and MDC (natural history biologist) so we burned our fields last week. Nice to have professionals on the job! Then for a few days I had dogs with black feet.

I'm there nearly every month. You are welcome to join me! You know, it really would be a great place for a Midwest mini rally. There are nice campgrounds nearby too, like Alley Spring (30 minutes away and near Eminence, MO) and it has an electric loop with 26 spots. I will have to think about that!
I'm in the heart of the most beautiful part of the MO Ozarks and surrounded by big, blue springs that release hundreds of millions of gallons of water a day, old mills, rocky shut-ins, the Current, Jacks Fork, and Eleven Point Rivers which are popular floating destinations. The big waterfall is one mile downstream from my property on the same creek that runs through my land and has two beaver dams on it.
Fall would be a nice time. To get to my land you have to cross the creek from either direction and when it has rained a lot, no can do! The area suffered a 1,000-year flood event last May which wiped out many homes and businesses. I even had water up into my field. Alley Spring campground is still getting repairs.

Linda, what a great area your land is in! I like the idea of a fall rally, either the weekend before or after the Mississippi rally would work well for some of us retirees!

Are the springs heated and I think some are medicinal in that high sulphur or other mineral is good for one's skin ailments, like psoriasis.

Actually both September and October are getting crowded with more than 5 meets, with July and August may be better to spread out the travel.

But Jim wouldn't you rather have two meets a week apart in the same general area of the country, kinda like Alf's rally a week after Algonac. Oh, I forgot you love to drive like crazy across the country to get to meets wherever

Linda is that Rock Falls in the 2nd photo in post 4? Looks like you have Rocky Creek running right through your land.

The springs are a constant temperature but not warm. They are warm enough however that there isn't much freezing on the rivers they feed. The ones near me are anywhere from 26 to 286 million gallons a day.

That sounds like a great idea. Is the Mississippi rally the last weekend of September? I could host either the weekend before or after that.
And I need to make it to the Mississippi rally this year to reclaim my torque queen title!

I’ve got one like that but it’s out of the rear window as I was backing up. It was at Thomson causeway where the Rangers run radar on Egg campers because they turn heads.

Yes Linda, it's Sept 28 to 30th at Thomson Causeway where it was last year and was supposed to be in 2016 until the river flooded it.
Funny I was looking earlier today at the thread for the 2016 rally and realized you had won the torque contest. We attended first and third Miss. rallies, you attended the 2nd. Hopefully we'll meet at the 4th and at the new Ozarks rally

One of the favorite sayings when I worked in Council Bluffs was “First Liar doesn’t have a chance.” 47 Years and still true.

Buckshot
If it was a roadsign in Iowa it would not last 24 Hours without some defacement. I am always in wonderment when I see a Deer crossing sign that’s been hit by a high powered rifle and the shooter missed the deer silhouette. If they can’t hit a sign on a post how would they do on a leaping deer? Always reminds me of then Native American word for bad hunter. “Vegetarian.”
Road sign damage and theft is a.multimillion dollar drag on our society. If these cretins would back off 66 feet 6 inches and throw baseballs at those signs they would also realize they were not good enough to pitch high school baseball either.
