I do have some logistics questions, all related to filling or emptying.

1. Where do you stop to load up on or re-load water?
2. Is there a recommended grocery store nearby? We will be arriving from Anza Borrego which only has a couple very small markets. We will need to stock up on meats and produce and prefer to do that after unhitching.

3. Any chance a honey wagon visits? If not, is there a local spot that people use to dump their tanks?
There are a few places nearby to buy water, and one in town to fill your trailer tank. We just came with a full bottle and bought a couple 5 gallon jugs in town.

Though not lots of great grocery shopping, we still found enough to feed us, no problem.

I never saw honey wagons, though going a week with the black tank is no problem, the grey does fill much faster. The guy who registered folks said there was no problem dispersing grey water. We tended to do dishes in a dish pan, and do only songs baths. There is really good shower facilities in town for $8.

Hi Jill- stock up as there are no real grocery stores; weird but true.

Hi Jill,

We usually get fresh water and propane from the RV Pit Stop. You can also dump your gray and black water there. That is their only business.

Although the grocery store isn't large by big city standards no one's going to starve to death either. There's also a bakery in town that's pretty good.

I live in a small community (15K) and we have a Ralph's and Grocery Outlet. Have seen 7-11's better than what is available at Q-town.

I know nothing about Quartzsite, but I can imagine dealing with full tanks is one of the more challenging issues if you plan to stay for an extended period. I did find this list of mobile pumpout services that might help. No idea if it is current though. Some supposedly can even bring freshwater.

It really doesn't seem to be an issue for most folks. Most make sure they use the facilities in town when they can and a potable black tank would allow the trailer to stay in place without moving. We've never had to use one.

Get as much fresh water as you want at the Pit Stop and as Jim pointed out grey water disposal isn't an issue.

We're in town frequently anyway as we like using the free wi-fi at the library.

If you are driving from Anza Borrego, you are likely travelling through Brawley, which is a decent sized town you may find its easier to shop their first.

BTW, its worth driving along highway 78 to Blythe, (then I-10 east.) Just after Brawley you go past the Glamis Sand dunes, which are quite something for the sand ATVs going through the desert there!

Yup, black tank contents definitely not potable.

I'd definitely stop in Blythe and find an Albertsons to stock up on all groceries there before getting to Quartzsite. The stores in Quartzsite are... um... well, maybe a tad constragulated.

Certainly no Wegman's or Whole Foods in Quartzsite, but seems to be enough to survive!

For those that want specifics, there are two grocery stores in Quartzsite, the Roadrunner & the General Store. Both are small markets, but both have fresh vegetables, meat, and small freezer sections. I prefer the General Store for meat & the Roadrunner for fruit & vegetables, but each has both.

There are also two "Dollar" stores. For those willing, there are a couple of booths around town that sell outdated boxed & canned goods (the photo in the previous post).

There is an Albertsons & a Rite Aid in Blyth, about 20 miles west on I 10, and a Walmart & Safeway in Parker about 32 miles north on AZ 95.

There are a couple of RV stops in town (the Pit Stop on AZ 95 is the most popular) that supply water, filtered water & tank dumps.

As the commander in chief of my trailer of course I'd go to the Burger King.

No mice, some bees around the hummingbird feeder, and one or two flies in the most packed areas & around the dumpsters here at the LTVA. Less of all at Dome Rock...

Thank you everyone for the grocery store input. Since we will need to do a major re-stocking, we will stop in Blythe. Don't want to go hungry out there!
