It was roof mounted (from Escape apart of the original owner's build). I installed another MaxxAir fan mainly because it was quick and easy way to plug the hole. Otherwise, if "someday" ever comes, I think I'd like to install an Arctic Tern roof hatch...but to be honest that's a long way down on my all things project list for home & vehicles
Fortunately the vast majority of our camp explores with the 15A are in the western USA where humidity levels are typically low so the fans have worked out fine.

Yes, interestingly, the air conditioning on the east coast is used to mainly dehumidify the area which causes the feeling of temperature drop. Recent plugged drain on a unit caused it to spit water inside. Once open that drain just flows. Where as some places out west you have swamp coolers, which cool by adding moisture to the dry air out there.

Dan,
I looked up the Arctic Tern roof hatch, man that is an expensive unit at $1,500. My thoughts are the Maxx fan is the best route. We are contemplating removing the AC unit.

Donna, Sounds like the first 5.0TAs were rolled out in 2014. I believe these were still the design with curved sides and bent awning arms. Do you know when the next switch was made to the straight sided models? I would like to look for one of these first TAs. Thanks!

Our Hobbit House
Ours was the last 13A to be built, it was a special order in 2012. Picked up May 2013. A previous poster called it cute. It fills all our needs, as we camp and not RV. Easily pulled by our 2010 4cyl Outback, but generally now by our 2014 Tacoma. If push comes to shove, I may trade "Our Hobbit House" for a 17B, but for now, she is serving us well. I've done a few upgrades, like installing 14" wheels and tires, so she rides a little higher now. The last minute front storage trunk was the most usable factory upgrade that we opted for just before we picked it up. As one of the photos attached shows, it was an interesting trip home.

You are one of the lucky ones. The problem with trading the 13 is there will never be another one with all of 24 built. The ride home did look interesting but at least you drove the Subaru and not the Camaro.

We are happy owners of one of the forty-seven 15Bs. (2nd owners) in Washington State since Feb. 2013! So many wonderful memories made over the years and it's always a conversation starter when we are out and about.

With future gas prices and electric vehicles I think smaller trailers are the future.
The new 23 will be nice but I think they would sell just as many 15s if they brought it back.
Yes a 15 would be expensive to build but so are other new small Fiberglass trailers. You pay a premium to have a small trailer.

Aluminum frame
I know Escape is working on aluminum frames for the 23. The next route would be aluminum frames for the other versions. The 15 would be a great candidate, low overall weight and light tongue weight.

One of the best features of the 15B is the forward kitchen design. It nicely separates the cooking area from the living area by getting the stove and sink activity out of the center aisle, with drawers and storage convenient to the door if you are cooking outside. Unique to the 15B.
My main modification was to cut the table in half. This gives a “permanent” 30” wide bunk/day bed/bedding storage beneath the back window, and a 24” dinette forward of that. It takes 15 seconds max to set up or take down the small dinette. No hassle. And the table is fine for 1 or 2 people.
Not to say that anyone else’s trailer isn’t perfect. It’s just what I like about the 15B.
