What product to use to clean the solar panel on the roof
I assume it's a glass finish so I could use any kind of glass cleaner?

We hose ours off with warm water,
Then use a soft sponge or clean wash mitt with Meguiars Gold car wash soap. Then rinse and towel dry. Ours never seems to be that dirty and I don’t notice much change in output. Course I don’t pay a lot of attention. Our single 190 panel is plenty to top off the battery every day. We don’t use a lot of juice.

I just hose mine off, and use a sopping wet microfiber cloth to loosen excess pollen/dust

I would not use ammonia based products if it is not "glass".
Mild Soap & Water is best.

Yours may be, but are ALL solar panels tempered glass? How about the suitcase style, or the semi-flexible panels?

the framed rigid ones certainly are, and that includes my renogy solar suitcase. and the rooftop LG panel I put on my Escape. the flexible ones I've seen have been some sort of plastic, and a few years in the sun and they start to dull. Note most of them have a 5 year warranty, vs the 25 year typical for a framed rigid panel.

I just flood warm water from a tea kettle on our panels and then use a microfiber cloth to remove bird poo. I don't dry the panels and have never seen a difference from slight dust.
I also mount my panels with enough angle so the water runs off, rather than pool and dry whatever dirt was suspended in the water.
Enjoy,
Perry
