Hi Ralph
Don’t get around the North End of those wild horses when they are facing south. Hope to see you next year. Keep the rails polished and the unruly passengers in line.

Rally Photos

A Facebook page dedicated to the rally was established while it was going on. If you care to see them do a search on Facebook for 2021 Thomson Causeway ESCAPE. Thank you Susan.

Rally Review

We would say it was a popular rally. Record setting in attendance. We had 53 trailers present and at least three groups of "day trippers". The day trippers and some of the seven non Escape trailers were present to look at a future purchase. We think they were satisfied.

To our observation the campground was filled.

The COVID influence was felt during the rally. The lack of attendance of one particular guest was discussed and made a constant reminder that times are different. There was not a potluck due to protocols that were established before the rally. With nearly 120 in attendance the number of campers attending the two evening activities was only about 50%. A sign of the times, guests were cautious.

Plans are already afoot for next year. September 23-25, 2022 will be the dates. As the facilitors for the rally, the plan for next year will be simplification. We do not know what the health status of the nation will be but we think you can see from this year we are doing less and less in large groups. The morning coffee/snack that Dan and Martha sponsered this year is an example, small groups drifting in and out. There were a number of small gatherings with multiple campfires and several gatherings that included adult beverages. That will continue next year. We do not foresee large gatherings.

Based on the growth seen this year, next year it will be necessary for guests to plan ahead. We forsee the size of the campground a limiting factor so the date you make reservations will determine who is in attendance.

Very well expressed Paul. A few years ago a fellow put those thoughts to music. Have a great fall and thanks for all your efforts.

Thank you to Paul and all the others who helped with the Thomson Causeway Rally. This was my first Escape rally and was made to feel like I was more than welcome. Maybe by next year I will have changed from my Casita and upgraded to a wonderful Escape. Learned a lot and made a lot of new friends.

Thanks again....till next year.

How far in advance can reservations be made? Will they book for next year, now?

Hello Jack
This rally is organized by Paul Braun. I do not know if Paul has set the dates yet for this year. That said, the rally has historically been the last weekend in September. However, this year the last day in September is Friday the 30th. In the past the last day in September was also the last day the campground was open. However, checking the Thomson causeway site today it indicates that the campground will be open through October 23,2022. This will make it possible for the rally to be the last Couple days in September and the first couple days in October.
At any rate, there is a six month reservation window. Meaning that you can reserve a date six months in advance. So for example you could reserve July 17 today. This means any date after the May 1 campground opening up to July 27. And so on. Hope this helps. If you call the the office listed for the Thomson causeway tomorrow I’m sure they can do a better job than I can for explanation. I’m sure Paul will be confirming the dates in plenty of time to reserve.
There’s a number of things to do in the area depending upon the your interests.
Iowa Dave

Paul,
Thanks for your speedy response Paul. I didn’t remember reading your post 186.
I’m fact I wouldn’t bet $5 that I could tell you what I had for breakfast yesterday. Hope all is going well in Wisconsin. Rita and I are making some plans for the camping season and solidifying your date helps.
All our best
Iowa Dave and Rita.

I;m a little bit confused (easily!) Post 195 says we can make reservations for this year, September dates. The website seems to not take reservations past 6 months out except for groups. Is this rally considered a group?
