1966-1968 I was International Molders and Foundry Workers of North American when I worked at Iowa Steel and Iron Works, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. We worked for industrialist Howard Hall. He also owned Cedar Rapids Inc who made worldwide used Rock crushers. Branded Cedarrapids Inc. In the foundry we made the iron crushing wheels and also the counter weights for Link Belt Speeder cranes that originated in Cedar Rapids also. Union wages for an 18 year old just out of high school.

I think that you'll find all the info you need, maybe more at the beginning of the thread.

I asked last year for there to be a list of attendees and their campsites. For some reason that didn't happen. This year I've been recording names and campsite numbers and my intent is to publish the list about a week before the rally. ETI may or may not provide a list. I'll also be asking for a Facebook user to let me know names of anyone attending that only posts on Facebook.

The rally also used a "fly a balloon" way of letting folks know a trailer was available to view mods. But it's a big and very spread out campsite and I'm pretty sure that not all folks walked past every trailer that was there.

My intent is to ask for those attending and that have mods etc. to view to let me know and I'll mark their name with maybe a balloon icon.

Flavour Alert! "Highway 97 Pizza"

My wife and I stumbled upon this little Pizza place a few years ago on our way home from Christina Lake. It was being run then by the Italian owner and it was fantastic.

Just in case you're out for a walk nearby, it just happens to be right about across Hwy 97 from the Rally at NK'MIP campground. FYI.

Hi Ron
It’s good to see your electrons and know that you survived Covid.
A rally goers list is a great idea. Thanks for stepping up.
Judy & I will be attending the rally and are in Space 42# Thursday thru Sunday.
If there is space we will set up our Clam pop up and have a BYOB (sort of) hospitality tent for folks stopping by.
We are traveling with our next store neighbors Paul Gorenzel & Kristina Norberg who also have a 21 Classic. This is their first Osoyoos rally so spread the word to be easy on them 1st time out.
Best Regards

Rally update

Hi Jim,

Good timing for your post because I was just touching base with Samual today about a couple of items.

He said that they were planning on handing out a list of people and their campsite numbers at registration. That's great. But I thought that was going to happen last year and it didn't. So I'm going to keep my list going just in case. I'll put it here a few days before the rally.

The second item is that I'm going to put on a demonstration of "cello finishing", the easiest way to get some pretty darn good results when repairing cracks and chips in gelcoat. ETI is kindly providing me with gelcoat so the work should be a perfect match.

I have one rock chip repair scheduled but will entertain doing a couple of other repairs also. If you have a spider crack etc. that you'd like repaired PM me and I'll have you send me a photo of the damage and I'll see if it's suitable to use as a typical example.

Maybe you can get ETI to bring along a few window cut outs for you to mark up and fix. You could also mark one up a bunch of times and have a permanent displays of all the steps. Looking forward to the demo.

Would someone be willing to video it for those of us who can’t be there?

I would think Harrison from ETI will be videoing such presentations. We can put forth your request.

That's the plan, otherwise watching the whole process from start to finish might be like watching paint dry. Prep and applying gelcoat can take only minutes but any finishing required would involve a delay until the gelcoat cured.

The reason that I'm doing this is primarily to make a video of the process as chip repairs and spider crack repairs have come up a number of times. So, I will video it.

Thanks! I own a lot of fiberglass stuff and have built some fiberglass covered stuff, but I’m terrible at it.

I suspect that will be the case but I'll still do my own videoing and editing with my trusty GoPro. More than one source never hurts.

Provisional Attendee List

Wow, finally the rally is not far away.

I'm pretty sure ETI will provide a list of attendees and their site numbers. But always nice to have a backup. Nothing more frustrating than attending an event and finding out later that someone that you would have been happy to cross paths with was there but you didn't happen to see them.

I know that I've probably made some mistakes. Any corrections or additions are welcome.

Well, so much for that effort, I got a message that my Excel spreadsheet is an invalid file. Anyway around that?

Save the file as a CSV, comma separated variable, file. Most computers will open this type of file in Excel. Because the comma is the separator, you should not include it in any data fields.
