Norcold compressor fridge gurgling ?

I've had my Norcold about 2 years now. lts been left on pretty much constantly the last 6 months, and I've noticed its making a gurgling noise when its running, especially evident when the fridge door is open.

I've emptied it and shut it off this afternoon, going to leave it off with the door open a few days so I can give it an overdue through cleaning. I believe this fridge uses 'R600' refrigerant, which is essentially isobutane. I read somewhere that leaving it off a few days should fix the gurgling, but I have no basis in fact for that.

Well, I shut the fridge off for a couple days, started it back up and it's quiet as ever.

Agreed. I absolutely love my Norcold compressor refrigerator. It maintains consistent temperatures unlike my Dam-etic RMD8555 and can run for almost 3 days on two 100 AH lithium batteries. It hasn’t gurgled yet but if it does, I now know the Norcold “Heimlich Maneuver.”

Ugh, day or two later, it's gurgling again.

Defrost cycle same thing happened to me a very distinct sound. Never had a problem yet. I’m sure it’s fine. Well pretty sure.?

My Norcold makes occasional noises as well. As long as it cools I don't care. Same with the ancient Frigidaire fridge in my house.

Hi: John in Santa Cruz... Our in home 3 dr. fridge gurgles too. It's my understanding it has something to do with the stuff running thru the bends in the tubing in the cooling unit. No possible way to lubricate it either IMHO. Alf
