Outdoor shower
We camped next to our daughter for the past two weeks -- she has a tent trailer with an outdoor shower and I am kicking myself for passing on this option. It is so convenient for washing off sandy feet or washing dishes -- so for those of you still pondering, I advise to go for it.

Did you have an issue with not having the shower before you camped with your daughter?

Totally agree- our first Escape was used and did not have one so we knew we wanted one on the 21- and we use it A LOT as a shower.

Last summer when we were camped on Lake Huron I was thinking that it would be useful but when I saw it in action I realized how much easier dishwashing outside would be with the shower -- and we do a lot of outside dishwashing.

I also agree. This will be my first RV Trailer but I have done a lot of tent camping and using rigged up outdoor showers. My idea of "roughing it" is only one shower per day. On an earlier forum someone showed a picture of a shower curtain made out of PVC tube, tarp and suction cups to stick it to the side of the trailer.
I also plan to not have a bathroom sink as I want the additional space in the bathroom and the kitchen sink will work fine.

Don't know where one is normally located in a 19, but you may be able to have one added. Maybe somewhere like East End campers out on Long Island. Some of the truck campers they deal with are all fiberglass.

You can buy the exterior shower box and install it if you have the skills. I have been meaning to do this and it was a good reminder.
Thanks!

I'm wondering if I should get one outside shower or two (one on each side). The one in the curb side would be mostly for washing dishes and the street side for showers.
I'm over thinking this!! And I still have until June to finalize my build sheet. Arrrrghhh!!

We did not get the external shower option, but we are planning on getting something like this and just carrying an extra hose.

We had the shower on the driver's side on our Casita, but got it on the passenger's side with the Escape. My thought is it might actually get used there. Washing the dog behind the trailer next to the awning mat so he doesn't track dirt/mud around, washing hands after s'mores, washing dishes if needed, washing the awning mat and washing the awning itself. On the drivers side, it is inconvenient or impossible to do any of that...But that's just us...

Mine is on the passenger side where it can be used (under the awning if raining or if sun is intense to wash dishes). Many dump station have a water spigot for slinky washing and I wouldn't want to use my shower for that task anyway.

Even better . And both are a heck of a lot cheaper than $150.

Have to ask.... does washing food off dirty dishes at an outside the trailer shower at a campsite someone else will be using make good camping sense?

It used to be that the exterior shower was on the drivers side of the trailers because the water pump, toilet, sink etc is all on that side. Is it optional now?

we had ours put on the passenger side of our 19 and it seems like a good place for it. We haven't used it too much, but I doubt if it would get used at all on the other side. Only thing I would have changed is that it was supposed to be behind the stove, but it was put in the cabinets where you store dishes. It would be easier to see if you had any leaks, but it takes up valuable room there.
