Where is gray tank sensor located?
The gray tank sensor in my 2014 17B has been reading 2/3 full, even after fully emptying the tank. I've tried calgon in the tank which didn't do anything. I bought a 3.5' flexible wand and flushed up into the gray tank drain pipe. That also did nothing to change the reading. I'm wondering where the sensor is located and if a little more flushing in that spot would help. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Reace told me to pour a few gallons of water into the tank along with some Dawn dish detergent and then drive. Empty at destination.
Haven't done it myself.

The sensors are well known to read as yours does, just the nature of the beast unless you opt for after market like Robert did, and I forgot http://www.rvprobes.com/home.html. I'm trying the dish detergent trick this year but not holding my breath. You get used to it being wrong after a while.

The sensors (there are 3 on the tank) are located on the side. Easy to see because there are wires attached. If you don't want to go to the expense and trouble of installing Horst Probes, I second Reace's and others recommendations for tank cleaning with a stronger solution- like Dawn.

grey tank sensor
I'm showing 2/3 full always now. On the way home I'll buy some dawn dish soap and pour some of it, probably the whole bottle in the tank with some water and dump it when I get home, 400 miles. This has worked in the past for us. Dawn is what people use to clean birds when caught in oil spills and it is in the mixture for cleaning windows.

We use the soles of our feet as grey water sensors. Soon as we feel water on the floor of the bathroom, it's time to drain.

And it's what I use to completely strip the wax off a vehicle before claying. My wife uses it to do the dishes. Go figure.

I have spray-on insulation on the bottom of my Escape, so I can't see where anything is. Maybe I'll try the dawn dish detergent trick. If that doesn't work I'll just have to get over being annoyed at the false reading.

Or you could get a voltmeter and a multi-meter and a hydrometer, and worry about your battery condition instead.

In answer to your question, the sensors are likely to be on the same end of the tank and to the left of where the inlet for the wand is. Techfan recently posted a good description of how to construct a wand that sprays back toward the sensors. Search under his/her posts. It is always good to get accurate info when you push the monitor button.
