Question Jan. camping Columbia River Gorge OR area

Hi all

We are looking for a place to camp with our 21' Escape in January... near the Columbia River Gorge OR area

a private camp ground.

Hook ups optional.

There are no USDA Forest Service campsites that will work. (they are either closed, or a 21' is too long)

We'll have thermal windows, under belly foam, extra insulation and two roof mounted solar panels, so we can handle some cold and snow....

what sort of range of weather is typical for here, in January?

and

I just discovered this long list, but i think someone who knows the area could point us in the right direction.

thanks!

How about Maryhill State Park (https://washington.goingtocamp.com/M...tatePark?Map)? And I would highly recommend the museum there as well as Stonehenge. Weather last January from Weather Underground...

Silver Falls State Park is open all year according to their website. It is further west which may be a tad warmer.

Dave&Kathie posted this information for Jim Bennett when he was asking about Oregon camping. D&K have an Escape 21 and have camped there:

This COE campground is a little oasis. Just north of the Oregon border by Umatilla.

Facility Details - Plymouth Park, WA - Recreation.gov

Well SHOOT, I see it closes Oct. 30 and doesn't open back up until April 1.

You will really need to watch the weather forecast- the Columbia a Gorge will be treacherous should a winter storm hit....ice storms are not uncommon and I-80 can be closed. My parents used to live in Hood River.

Thanks.... Columbia River Gorge OR is more than an hour north east, and so that isnt what we are after.

I'm sorry I wasnt more specific - i mean camping right at Columbia River Gorge OR ....

Silver Falls State Park is supposed to be great, thought.
