Yes. That is on the list. We may have bitten off more than we can chew. Our thought is to launch the trip by taking the ferry over to Newfoundland. The Marine Atlantic’s ferry leaves North Sydney, Nova Scotia to Port aux Basques, Newfoundland. I read that it is about a 7 hour trip. We like to spend at least twe
to three weeks on the Island. It doesn't seem like you could do Newfoundland 'justice' unless you were there at least 2 weeks. I've been intrigued with Newfoundland ever since I read Annie Proulx's Pulitzer Prize winning novel, The Shipping News back in around 1994. Great story.

If you mean by "Rock" Newfoundland then yes. We'll drive the TV & RV onto the ferry. Pre-COVID the cost was $C500. Don't know what it is now. We'd probably go ahead and rent a cabin too. They 'were' $C60. It's such a long trip...

Probably use the bridge to and fro Prince Edward.

A couple of months ago we watch the latest mini series based on 1908 novel by
Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables. The mini series is titled Anne With An E. We thought the scenery and acting was great. But Netflix and the CBC in their collective wisdom decided to cancel the series after season 3 because, "it didn't do well enough in the “25-54 age range.” Oh my.

Also, (at least in 2018), it's fun to go onto the island one method and off the other. You only have to pay to get off the island, so if you want to do both, the recommended way is to go over by ferry which is free in that direction and off via the bridge, which is less expensive than the ferry. I stayed at the Harbor Light campground which is near the ferry loading spot, $30 water and electric (2018). I was right on the water, a beautiful view, and was met at the office by a very nice guy who offered me a fudgecicle. Now that's service!

On PEI I stayed at Cavendish Campground at PEI National Park. It was early Sept so most of the crowds were gone.

When I was renewing my XM Radio subscription, I noticed the woman on the phone had a Canadian accent. During our discussion of Nova Scotia I mentioned going to Meat Cove. She laughed and said that was where she was calling from. Small world!

If you don't mind heights, there is an interesting campground going to Meat Cove with great views af whales, the ocean, etc.

I suspect that varies from year to year. When we were there we saw them both in the Straight of Belle Isle and at Twillingate on the North coast. Interesting to see the whole bay filled with bergy bits. Always moving and making a hard to define sound.

Meat Cove Campground. They may be tent & cabin only - not a lot of access for trailers.

I have watched icebergs floating by (and one that was actually grounded in place for few days!) right on top of the mountain at the mouth of St John's Harbor. If you do go to St John's (capital of Newfoundland) you have got to walk up the Upper Battery Rd (off of Waters street I believe) to the public trail that circles the northern mountain at the mouth of the harbor - you will be absolutely astounded and not for the faint of heart! You will actually hold on to large chains on one section to keep from tumbling down the mountain - views are spectacular and at the right time of year good chance to see icebergs. The scenery from this trail is truly awe-inspiring and you'll end up at the historic canon battery overlooking the mouth.

Google Street View has a image showing motorhomes in this campground... but it does seem to be intended for tents.

There were at least 6 maybe 8 campers. One was a large 5th wheel
Another was an aluminum camper called campsite. I was there in a tent, but an escape would be fine there if you get there early. Also if you’d rather have reservations we like the Hideaway campground and Oyster Bar . Reservations are needed.

We did Newfoundland and PEI in 2019, definitely get a cabin on the trip over. We stayed in Gander at the flight museum (Havest Hoste is needed) fantastic museum. Twillingate is a great place for Iceburgs viewings as well as the sounding areas. stayed at Peyton Woods RV Park.
L’anse aux Meadows is a must stayed at Lt Lunaire-Grique, Viking RV park good base and lots to do in the area. Have fun and enjoy, we plan to go back some day.

Years ago, we were walking the boardwalk in the Corkscrew Swamp in Florida. A fellow was set up with an elaborate tripod mounted camera and gear. I inquired, and he was photographing for Nat. Geo. for a future article. He was in the swamp 8 AM-5PM, 5 days. I watched for the article. He got 1 of his pictures in the article.
Those photographers work real hard for those stunning images.
