Plenty of wine in iowa. And wineries along or near the great river road. There’s a nice book on iowa attractions that is free from the department of tourism. There’s a separate guide to wineries, breweries and hard cider producers. I’ve linked it below. Doesn’t take to long to get it.

I get a new one every year and note the additions and the deletions. My family used to make 35 gallons of wine every other year. My dad bought grapes locally and we supplemented them with the tiny wild grapes that grew locally. My two brothers and I would pick a few bushels each early fall and Dad would buy us each a box of .22 rifle cartridges that we’d target practice with. Then we’d stem the grapes and use a lard press to get the “Sweet nectar of the Gods” as my dad called it. Good memories
To stay legal, my vision at 75 is still very good for distance unless I’ve been tipping a few, I think that’s normal.

Hi: Iowa Dave... Last time I had to go in to the DMV office the (ahem) nice lady at the counter asked if I needed glasses to drive. I replied I only needed them to see!!! My wife told me so. Alf

I’ve always had to have a DR’s note to get a license. I’ve never passed a counter eye test to drive. I hope the vision last a while longer because there is so much to see.

Hi: Mike G... I don't see a piece of cake. Does that mean I have Cataracts? Alf

Hi Alf
No, there was cake, it’s just that I got there before you.
