Camp Hosting

I subscribe to a number of state DNR information websites. Today was the initial listing of camp ground hosts needed by the state of Michigan. I thought someone might be interested.
Lots of pretty country in Michigan. We have stayed in about two dozen of their state parks and some of the USDA Forest service CGs which are not listed anywhere here.

Campground hosts are needed by virtually all state parks and federal agencies (BLM, USFS, NP). But do your research - not all campgrounds are created equal. There are great campgrounds, and there are campgrounds where the hosts quit after 24 hours. Visit first, ask questions, talk to the current hosts. Talk to your potential boss. Talk to campers who have been returning to that campground for multiple visits. If you find the perfect campground but they have all the help they need, then get your application in and let the campground coordinator know that you can show up on short notice if there is an emergency. Get your foot in the door and you will move up the list once you have proven your abilities and flexibility. It's worth it!
