I'm an American; what gave you the idea that I could possibly be normal?

You know, it's really quite simple. Just remember 15/50, as in 15°C is 50°F, a pleasant daytime temp. in Calgary.
Similarly, a pleasant day in Camarillo is 20/68, or in Palm Springs it's 40/104. Oswego at -3/26... not so much.

To put things in perspective, Salt Lake City just experienced the warmest February on record, 43.9°F average temp, with only a trace of snow. 2014-2015 is the warmest winter season on record, averaging 38.3°F, with 41% of days over 50°F. It's also the least snowy winter, with only 6.0" all season.

Hey, don't get on my case. It was Robert who suggested you may be normal, not me?
I am good at converting, it is just that I now have to do that, and can't think in °F.
I would take Oswego temps over those at Palm Springs any day. My sensors begin to fail over 30°C (86°F).

Unfortunately the metrication effort in the U.S. was derailed decades ago (now there are only two other non-metric countries - Myanmar and Liberia, Metrication in the United States)
However, the metric system doesn't make as much sense for temperature, since Fahrenheit and Celsius are both arbitrary scales. So, shouldn't we use an absolute temperature scale like Kelvin or Rankine, where zero degrees really is zero, not an arbitrary point like the freezing point of water (Celsius) or brine (Fahrenheit)?

Here is a quick and easy way to convert C to F... Simply take the base temp in C, double that and then add 30 and you will end up very close to F temp.
so take 20C, the double it to 40 and then add 30, you end up with 70F. It is quite accurate every time.

I use the 28 is 82. So if the temperature is above 28 I know it's hot below it is mild much below I'm gone.

I agree that an absolute scale would be more useful in some ways, but even when using a relative scale Celsius has an advantage over Fahrenheit when doing calculations in which the other quantities are also in SI units. If you just need to know how hot it will feel when you step outside, I think whatever scale is familiar will do.

O°C is freezing, and 100°C is boiling. This is a much simpler that that of 32°F, and 212°F for the same thing. Having used both in my life, and moving to Celsius only, I can definitely say that it is simpler to use, especially like Brian alluded to, used with other metric measurements in lots of engineering type applications.
With a lot of measurements, and Canada so being reliable on trade with the US, we still do lots of things using imperial measurements. Temperature is about the only one that is consistently metric around here.
Who freezes brine anyway?

As an fahrenheit user I agree that Celsius is much simpler and easier to use.....0 to 100 is easy to remember.

It all makes sense unless you're not at sea level. At my elevation, boiling water is at 208.4 degrees C. Then, the simple 0 and 100 degrees C becomes more complicated!

It's either cold (turn on the furnace!) or it's hot (turn on the A/C or MaxFann), other than that... is it wet outside and do I need to put on rain gear? It's all good, I'm camping.

183 cm tall, and 95 kg in weight. Don't want to get shorter, but wanting to be under 90 kg though.
Though I do know these measurements in metric quite well ( I was just weighed at the hospital this morning as part of the monitoring of my HepC treatment), but as baglo is likely getting at, I (like most native Canadians) use imperial for height and weight most of the time.
6 ft 0 in, and 210 lbs.

One more vital measurement to remember.
Minus 40C = minus 40F
I'm not camping!

Never mind this post. When I re-read it, it didn't make sense. So,
I deleted it. Not thinking tonight; I really need a trailer in my driveway!
