We have not been on this forum in months as we have moved onto SOB. Checked in today just to check in Jim. He was the first to welcome us to this forum, has always been a positive voice, perhaps best described as the heart of Escape Trailer Forums. We'll morn his loss. Thank you for the painful update.

I think of Jim when I fill my propane tanks. Thanks for the common sense, good advice, some humor, and all the good memories.

Never met Jim in person, but interacted a couple of times on this forum with him and enjoyed reading his posts. I once mentioned I might attend an Escape rally and he encouraged me to do so-what a great promoter! He made it sound like a short journey to it when in fact he traveled so far to attend them. Rest assured you have prayers and people thinking of you from across this great country including an island in southeast Alaska. Take care. Frank/Karen Gunderson Wrangell, Alaska (2015 Escape 17)

In July 2020 I made my first post on this forum about transitioning from motorcycling to camping. It was a simple post to ask if anyone had made that transition.

https://www.escapeforum.org/forums/f...ing-18293.html

Thank you sir. You where the first to respond and the others that quickly followed convinced me to dig a little deeper into the Escape Trailer world.

I think some of you indecision rubbed off on me. First I wanted the 5.0. Then it was the 21NE or the 19 before we finally decided on our 21C.

Friend Jim

We camped with Jim and Noelia in Ontario, Tennessee, British Columbia, Illinois and Iowa. He really enjoyed cooking and I usually brought some homegrown stuff along for him to cook. He liked scrapple and I tried it a few times but I never thought it was as good as SPAM. He really liked getting fresh German Stiff Neck Red Garlic that I grew in the Fall at the Wine Escape. One year they visited a winery in California on the way to Osoyoos. Noelia had a family connection with the winery and she and Jim had some custom labels made for “Escape” wine. He always took kidding pretty well and could dish it out too. Jim attended Parsons college in Fairfield iowa and spoke often about how well he was treated, old flames and helping out on a tornado cleanup his freshman year. He loved his Labs that’s for sure. Here we are getting the half price ribs in Osoyoos and having a cold one with Bruce. Bruce took our picture with a “wide angle setting”. I heard Amazon laid off a driver in York when Jim finished outfitting his last trailer.

Jim

Jim was one of the first persons that I came in contact with on this forum. He’s the best; full of information. In fact, many of my selections when ordering my Escape were his ideas. I wish him the best. He deserves the best.

It seems everyone has a Jim story here. He helped so many people.

He helped me several times and always had good wishes for everyone.

I hope someone can read these to Jim, so he knows how loved he is. He is a big part of my Escape experience.

In her E card to us last week Noelia indicated that she was with Jim about
All the time now so I’m sure he’s tuned in to all the posts we’ve been making.

He is tuned in to his inner experience,- reflecting on his life, and the family which surround him with love. That is about it.

Most of the posts here mention Jim as a 'helpful' guy. That's spot on right. He's been a great help to the site team as well, as a moderator, and we always appreciated his take on things. My prayers for Jim and his family. Jim, if you happen to see this, I want to say THANK YOU.
