Aluminum/steel bike parts are going to be less torque-sensitive, but care should still be taken ensure they are not grossly overtightened.....

Yes. Invested in and use regularly.

bike rack
I bought a Thule T2 classic to carry 2 e-bikes. Expensive but strong enough for the heavier bikes. It is the easiest bike carrier to load that I have ever used. Bought from REI so got the rebate at year end and the famous REI satisfaction guarantee.

the one that says "DO NOT INSTALL on a trailer or other towed vehicle" in the owners manual, and makes no mention of RV tested ?

Yes that is the one. I did some checking beforehand and the reason for the disclaimer is to release the bike rack manufacture from liability. Most find it impossible to certify their rack for all the variables associated with RVs. Use at your own risk.

soo, the nice Fedex man delivered my new 1up bike rack today.. Like others, its quality is apparent when you take it out of the box.. Looks like some serious engineering... hurt paying for it, but now I see why

While you have your credit card out, buy this. Makes storing a breeze.

Looks similair to the one that 1-UP supplies. I can't remember what I paid for it but I am sure it is more than the one on Amazon. Of course the one from 1-UP is a nice red colour. That must be worth something! Works fantastic though. Makes storing so easy.

the Quik Rack is not RV rated, only the Heavy and Super Duty racks are, as singles or doubles.

I think that's what sofmerc meant. At least I hope so, because I got the Super Duty single with the SUPER DUTY ADD-On and yes, it IS RV rated.

Don't remember seeing these when I bought the 1 up. Do you store yours vertically or horizontal?

I store my rack horizontally. Simply plug the 1-UP rack into the storage bracket, the same way I would plug it into the hitch receiver. The 1-UP storage bracket was listed under their accessories. Works virtually the same as the one shown on Amazon, and the Amazon one looks to be less expensive

Bike Rack storage
When I said I stored my rack horizontally, I didn't mean I left the rack in the down position.
Here is a pic of the stored rack. It also serves to hold up brooms, hiking poles etc to prevent them from falling onto the car
