I realize this is an older thread, hoping some that have installed tubular cam locks have a good rememberer. I need this information before I order. It's going to be for the baggage doors.

Lock Size (5/8? 7/8?)

Cam Length (5/8? 7/8? 1inch?)

Cam Bend (no bend, 1/16? 1/8? 3/16? 1/4?)

Ten Forward is going to be stored in a different storage yard this next winter. They've had problems with theft in the past. The yard is more secure now. I'm trying to be proactive.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

This is a set of four, comes with both straight and offset latches.

Thanks David. I read this "the key can’t be removed unless the lock is engaged." Is this true? Hummmmm.

Never mind, figured it out!

Yes, that is unfortunately how all of the round locks like that work, I think. If you want to open a hatch door and leave it open you can just close the latch to remove the key, and you'll have to open it with the key again before closing the hatch. Kind of a pain, but I like these much better than the standard key locks that come on the trailers.

I got mine from Industrial Lock and Hardware. I was able to set it up so I can remove the key in either locked or unlocked position.

(There's only one locking compartment on my 19.)

Our front storage hatch was broken into a couple of years ago. The problem wasn't the locks; it was the flimsy plastic piece that the latches went behind. The thief simply pulled up on the handy little finger hook, and the latches went right through the plastic threshhold. I pop-riveted in a thin piece of aluminum angle that the latches could hold onto. Put in two lock cylinders, instead of one. Got rid of the finger hook thingy.

This thing about adding security locks makes me wonder about the lesser of two evils. What could be so valuable in there that I would risk having to replace it versus serious damage done to the hatch?
