Stove recall
I opted for the Dometic stove, but I cannot find a small extension hose to install it. I have tried everywhere. Does anyone have an idea where to get one. Frustration has reached Nuclear levels.
I would appreciate any help with this I can get.

I have a role of gas line I use for natural gas work, I can cut off the length needed and attach the end fittings.
I’m guessing the same can be done with propane lines.

When I installed our Dickinson stovetop I went to a huge fireplace store in Rochester. They told me they had extensions in six inch increments.
Enjoy,

I am not sure what escape you own but I have 2018 E 19. The old sd2 had copper that ran straight to the stove fitting. I was able to cut and flair the copper since it ran past the fitting for the Dometic. This might not be your case.

Not in Canada. In the old days you buy a length of rubber hose and stick two hose barbs on the end to make a custom hose. Now custom hoses have to have certification stickers and be purchased from a qualified source.

This product is essentially the same as the precut lines, corrugated stainless steel tubing.
Home-flex, there are others but this is what is at Home Depot.
I don’t know if it’s available in Canada, doesn’t sound like it would be.

A similar product is but it's use would be for natural gas and following those standards. I'm not sure that it's approved for RV use. But it's a moot point because the same company that supplies the gas line, Fairview Fittings, can make up custom, approved propane lines.

It’s always the fittings that will make you nuts…but for this problem maybe call Byerly RV off 44 and ask them to send you a custom made piece.
Let them know your from just down the road-636-938-2000

Maybe take a picture and measure diameter then go to hardware store for help. Sometimes it's that easy

From my post #57 in the "Collection of info about replacing the SDS2 thread under Modifications and Alterations section: The current host part number on may 21 C is I6C148FS6FS6. Research online revealed that this is a Fairview part number for a 3/8 inch ID hose 48 inches long with 3/8 inch female flared fittings on both ends. You'll need longer than 48 inches. The number 48 in the above part number represents the hose length, so you can insert whichever hose length you need into the part number.
I went down to my local propane contractor and had them order from their vendor what i need. Standard size is 120 inches. dA different size costs much more so I ordered the 120 inch and took up the slack in the cabinets. Stove now works great even at 10,000 feet.

This is a frustrating issue for sure! I tried quite a few places on our travels and luckily found an rv parts supplier that was able to make me a hose extension. I would think a lot of rv parts and service centers would be able to make one. Haven’t installed it yet so fingers crossed I got it right!

Don't know but in our case it was contact them, give them the info they required and the address of the RV place that would do the install. It got sent to them, installed and we sent the install invoice to ETI and got the check last week.
Where are you on that progression?

I had a hose made at a local company that makes hydraulic hoses for heavy equipment and such. Made me a 24 inch hose with crimped on fittings... $26. I told them it was for low pressure propane and they had the same hose like what was already in my Escape. Look around your area for some hydraulic hose type place.

I haven’t gotten around to doing this recall yet but when I needed a custom propane hose for the barbecue I built, my hydraulic hose supplier had one made for $30. It had to be ordered from Toronto.

Are you replacing the stove yourself? The recall email said that only a RV dealership would be reimbursed for the repairs.

Sorry, I did not get the SDS2 replacement. I ordered and purchased the Dometic Stove top and needed the hose. I did it myself. They would not let me do the SDS replacement myself.
