Adding A/C

I’m considering purchasing a used 2014 Escape that was purchased without an AC. Do you know where I could go to get an air conditioner put in? I’m considering the idea listed in reply to your comment to make something homemade, but we’ll be mostly in south Texas where it’s HOT.

I would check with your local mobile RV mechanics. As far as AC unit, I’d purchase the unit first yourself rather than buying at at RV service center. I live in Texas and I installed a RecPro 9500 houghton on our 21 in place of the dometic unit Escape installed. In cools the trailer down quickly and keeps it very cool. It is also is very quiet and doesn’t wake us up at night when it comes on. The nice feature is that you control the unit with a remote, no thermostat wires to run.
