Switch to Demco EZ Latch coupler?

I'm thinking of switching out from the original Escape coupler on my 2022 21C to a Demco EZ latch coupler, going from the 2" ball to match the 2&5/16 ball I have on my cargo trailer. I see a lot of references to 50 degrees in the information about several types of A frame couplers. I see no info from Escape that the A Frame is 50 degrees. Anyone know if 50 degrees is correct for the Escape A frame? Anyone with any experience using a Demco EZ latch coupler? Also, any recommendations for a welding outfit in the Everett - North Seattle area to do the work? Thanks for your input.

Here is a video or two on how it works, for those who do not know.

Personally, I'm a fan of this coupler, Airstream has made it their standard. If you are not a fan of the composite handle Bulletproof diesel was making a milled aluminum handle. When I search the site, it shows but when I click the link is says not found.

I had a Bulldog 2” 7,000 pound hitch welded on my E19 to replace the original hitch. One of the best things I have done to the trailer. E-trailer web site sez it’s 50 degrees.

I had it welded on at Airport Welding and Muffler, just south of Snohomish, appropriately enough right at the edge of the airport. A guy named Matt did a great job for a fair price, but that was a few years ago. Torched and ground off the old hitch, and arc welded the new one on - remember to disconnect your batteries. In any case, they repair lots of heavy duty cargo/farm/ranch trailers, and can even build from scratch, so they must know what they’re doing. Been there since 1972. Highly recommended, even if you have to drive a bit extra.

First time I've ever seen that Demco coupler. Interesting.

Thanks!

Thanks for the responses - much appreciated. I'll check out the Snohomish welder connection - I know right where they are.

I second Airport welding...they replace the coupler on my 19 and 21 with the bulldog I supplied.

You might be well served to have a peek at this thread:

https://www.escapeforum.org/forums/f...ade-20156.html

Although you aren’t planning to cut over to a Ram / Bulldog coupler in particular, the potential issue of the new coupler moving the tongue jack center-line toward the rear of the trailer might be of interest. Just a heads up…

I love the dent in the license plate as seen in the video. If I am making a video on how to hitch your trailer, I might want to disguise that dent
