Some people had problems with the ones Amazon ships - I have bought from the link below with no problems other than the shipping time.

I cancelled my Amazon order and then started to look into it a little more. I found most replacement boards being sold were V1.6. The parts and owners manual were both updated in the second half of 2017. The 2017 parts list shows an updated V3.9 circuit board. I haven't checked my fan, but, the image of the V3.9 circuit board I found online shows it was updated in July 2018. I'm just going to ride it out. If I end up having to replace the board, I'll add a voltage regulator at that time.

My replacement control board is V3.9. I checked with Airxcel about the voltage limit for the V3.9 and was informed that they increased it to a max of 14.4v.
Here where there may still be a problem. Solar....
From Go Power manual:
13.7V Float Voltage
14.4V Bulk/Absorption Voltage
14.9V Equalization Voltage (Only for flooded battery and applied for 2 hours every 28 days and if the battery voltage drops below 12.1 volts.)
No solar - should be OK. Have solar? A regulator may still be needed.
Oh, and don't forget the rest of your stuff.
Per the manufacturer's recommendations:
Dometic 2554/2663 9.6-18 volts
Suburban SW6DE 10.5-13.5 volts
Maxxfan 7000K 10.6-13.7 volts (14.4 for V3.9)
Atwood AFSAD12 10.5-13.5 volts
Dometic 9500 10.5 – 15.5 volts

Sounds like equalization should only be done manually with the battery disconnect switch set to disconnect.

I believe the battery switch only disconnects the 12v after the battery, there is still live solar feed to the batteries.

That is correct. That way the solar charge controller can still equalize the batteries without the rest of the trailer's electrical system experiencing the 14.9 volts during the equalization.

So, if the issue is the solar output is too high for the 12v items, why not turn off the switch and have the converter supply clean 12c power vs the solar spiked charges. This would only work while plugged in but that could give you a margin of safety?
