Dave, you are a trip and a little crazy but I do very often learn something from your advice. Love your stories of your adventures and situations that you have encountered over the years. I'm sad that I don't think we will see each other this year and I've been doing my blue tarp gathering over the past year. Sending prayers out to all those hardy souls in Iowa who have been impacted by those recents winds. The pictures we have seen are very devastating and the damage is unreal. Hope all is well and that you, Rita and the family are doing well. Go Bucs although it is going to be a season like no other.

I know what you mean. Loren from Kansas had the same rig with a tank in the back of his GMC. He also had a generator, acetylene torch set and an air compressor. He would help a farmer friend north of us in the spring and fall. He lived in his 21 those weeks and could fix breakdowns in the field. He passed away a year ago last December. I was glad to have met him when he stopped by one spring on his way back to Kansas after planting corn and beans. He liked one of my favorite sayings invoked when the job is a little bit bigger than the man but you have to get started on it. “All a steer can do is try”.
I wish I could have camped with him.

Yes, the penalty is that any time you’re with more than three people, one of them says “Remember the time you spilled your beer when we went in the ditch and we thought you peed your pants? It’s the humiliation that hurts.

Hi Ralph
We’re doing ok. Plenty of work to do but we’re not too bad off. Still no power after 9 days. Visited my former commissioner yesterday. He got hit hard and I had to do a little counseling.
Plus look at some trees and an electrical box. The grill on the pickup was still good. But the

A few years ago, we got to a campground in the Sierras in late spring, only to find out it had just re-opened from winter and they hadn't turned on the water to the campground yet. So we set up camp and drove 5 miles back down the road and filled up with H20 at another cg - this 5 gal water can saved that trip. ...and others. Another campground, (ironically) right next to a reservoir informed us they were going to turn off all the water spigots due to a broken/leaking pipe, so we quickly filled up our 5 gal tub to get us by. A must-have item for us now. We sanitize it every year, when we sanitize our trailer tank. -Bea

I have a 30 gal plastic tank that I put in my pickup. I tried parking the truck with full water tank a little higher than the trailer, but the water defies that laws of physics and won't go through the hose by gravity unless quite a bit higher( filler cap on tank removed for venting) I ended up getting a small transfer pump at home depot that runs off my inverter and it takes about 10 minutes to fill that way
