Sealant remover and scraping tools

What does everyone use to clean up sealant when replacing vents or other items on the trailer. I’ve used acetone and want to see if anything better works. Also any favorite scalping tools for scraping sealant after it dries. I just use a flat edged razor blade not aggressively.

I have posted in the past that one of my go to tools for removing sealant is a plastic chisel. I got these at Harbor Freight. They sell a set of four (different widths) for about 10 to 15 dollars. They are not sharp per se but they have a hard edge and large handles that give excellent control. If you garf up the edge of the chisel, you can sharpen and even it back up with a mill bastard file.
Easy does it when working around fiberglass especially with gelcoat involved.

When we resealed and re-decaled our Rpod, we used a product called Rapid Remover. It worked really well on the decal sealant residue. Of course, you'd want to test it on an inconspicuous are of the fiberglass body first.

Ya, you're right. We used Rapid Remover because we knew we would be restoring the finish which was already oxidized.

Start with mineral spirits or WD40. Don't bother with GooGone or Goof Off. Those don't work.

Good to know about Goof Off GooGone not working.
