Went on Google and found a fella that posts videos and how to open most all safes. Aluminum zip tie and about 30 seconds later and popped it right open. I'm sure most bad folks have his website bookmarked.

I am not sure exactly what you could do to secure your jacks on a 5 but on our 19 I put an extra concealed power switch on the power tongue jack that they have to find before they can raise or lower the trailer on their get a way vehicle. Something a thief would not normally consider they would have to deal with.
Hi Don when you get the new brake lock don't forget a picture or two . Glad you liked my idea ! Pat
Pat, so far it's just a future idea. Dexter has backing plate assemblies with the parking brake mechanism. Old Willys Jeeps had the "Orscheln" type over-center toggle type lever. Custom cabling assemblies are available. It's just a matter of the cabling and a couple of welded brackets under the trailer frame.

Carl, according to my Proven invoice I got Model 2178-A (Fits 2'' Atwood Yoke Latch Couplers). This was for our 2017. It’s possible your 2018 could be different. Hope this helps.

I confess to never having worried much about theft, maybe due to our style of camping. The trailer is behind a locked gate at home. On the road we have a dinky little hitch lock on it. This thread is making me wonder. Do we have any statistics on how many fiberglass trailers are stolen each year? Rarely seen mention on any of the forums, but haven’t been active again until this year.

Too many. I'm a member of the three big fiberglass forums and about 15 all-molded-towable Facebook groups. Theft of fiberglass trailers is more common than you might think. What I've noticed, is most often the trailers are stolen right out of someone's driveway! Less often from campgrounds/parks and storage yards. And the <17' trailers are the most popular size to steal.
In the end, it doesn't matter how many trailers are stolen. If it's only ONE trailer and it's yours

Over the last 30 years of using a trailer with the majority of our camping being boondocking, we have hardly ever used any kind of security, maybe a bit of a padlock on a bumper hitch, but that was a rarity. I park my 5.0TA in an alley parking spot a few minutes from home, and there I often run a cable through the wheels. We have never even been somewhere across North America where we have heard of a problem.
I must admit to being the type that prefers to not worry too much about stuff. I have had a couple glitches due to this, but mostly have had a wonderful happy life.
Oh, Oh, Oh, I know. I always carry full replacement insurance should something happen.

Looks like this lock uses a padlock, correct> If so, can't they just cut off the padlock? I'm a newbie. Thanks for the info.
It’s a puck lock , there is no exposed shank that can be cut with a bolt cutter. The lock itself is mostly enclosed in the housing so prying it off would be pretty tough. For the Anderson Ultimate hitch this is hard to beat, IMHO.

We use the Nemesis wheel lock from Purple Line. I've had more than one person ask about it when I'm camping. and yes, I've heard stories of trailers being stolen.
I have no idea how the 5th wheel jacks work...manual or hand crank? Is there not some way you can also lock the jacks in the down position. I think that would be a real pain having the jacks down if you where trying to move the trailer.

For that matter, just place your conventional trailer tongue jack with a jack with a removable jack handle, you would need probably 4 people to lift the 600 lb tongue up
