When the price gets to $450 we'll be selling our $99 version on Fleabay.

Enjoy,

Perry

Will just make our Escape's MORE valuable . I was afraid they were going to run out of the product, I didn't think about the price going up (supply and demand). Whew.

I did a mod yesterday for my frameless windows by adding a "dead bolt" to stop the knob from working its way loose and posted in a new thread here. Hope some fellow escapees find it useful.

The EBay seller seems to be sold out. I had previously seen them on Amazon but can't find them there now either....I think they are all gone. Glad I got one when I did, guess they are a rare collector's item now.

Manufacturers may not ever resolve little problems like this, but you can always count on Escape owners to come up with good fixes!

I emailed with Scott from Adohen Supply who was a major supplier of the SAM-1. In late May he said he has no information as to what is happening with FOP. He had none in stock and always has them shipped directly. Currently their rvvent.com website still let's you put one in your cart and checkout but I'm not sure if they are actually available.

Depending on the direction of the sun and wind, it is often desirable to have the dinette escape hatch window open, but that mechanism is not secure - someone could come up and just pull the window out and the arm would go through the hole, or a big gust of wind could do the same. And fully extended that is open further than we would like.

I drilled a hole in the housing that the arm slides through and a corresponding hole in the metal arm part way out. Now we can open that window part way and slide a snug fitting clevis pin in place that securely latches that window in a partly open position. It doesn't show in the photos, but the clevis pin has one of those little spring loaded bumps on it that compress when you push it through and makes sure the pin doesn't work itself loose....or have help from cats.

We only use this when we're going to be away from the trailer, it does leave part of the metal arm sticking into the trailer well past the cushion. When we're home we just open it all the way using the lip on the end of the arm to hold it open. The big ring on the end of the clevis pin fits over the latch on the right for storage when not in use.
This is a good mod which I keep meaning to do, maybe when I get home. 🤔As far as security, not so much. Still the easiest access pin or not.

Free range cats? Do you have to resupply when returning home?

Found this silver trimmed mirror at Wallyworld, thought it would compliment the sink and faucet, hangs over the door, just put some butyl tape on the bottom.

Jim that butyl tape is going to get messy when it’s really hot.
Really like the little rack up have under your fold up counter extension, can you let me know where you bought it.

Hope it's not glass.
My mirror is plexi, which I had cut to size at a glass shop.

The mirror is plastic, weighs less than 5 lbs total. So far the butyl had held up to the 95 degrees, it is holding up my battery monitor over the spice rack mounted down low on kitchen wall, the rack is either this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 or this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

David, I was just at my son's and he did the window arm mod for me. He put one hole in the red tab to make it more secure (when bumped it comes sliding out) and two in the metal arm. I love it! Thanks for the great idea.

Well, it was new to me when I did it, but I've since seen old threads going back years where a number of others came up with that too - I guess great minds think alike!

Sometimes things are so old that they’re new again. All the old-timers likely did this years ago, then it was forgotten, only to be rediscovered again. I think there are a lot of mods like that. Most folk are generally trying to solve the same issues today as they were ten years ago, right?

2017 - 21' Escape Bathroom Organization

Needed a place to store shampoo, conditioner and shower gel in the bathroom. I found this little gem on Amazon and hubby tweaked it for me. Works perfect! Bottom is ridged and is slightly sloped to allow water to drain. Very sturdy, removable, and easy to clean.

Found these on Amazon and seem to work well so far. Meaning they don't fall off.
