Ours was the 1st solar panel that Escape used the 3M vhb tape to mount it with back in Sept 2009. To date, we haven't experienced any issues with it adhering to the roof.

We use the wdh sold by Escape and tow with a Toyota 4Runner. When hitched up to the wdh, we can open the 4Runner's rear hatch without any problems for loading & unloading things out of the vehicle.
