Resonators are a common feature of many modern factory exhaust systems.. both my older I6 Mercedes and newer V6 Mercedes have a resonator AND a muffler, with a net effect of being nearly silent.

Resonators

A fellow who worked part time in the service station with us bought a very low milage 1957 Coupe De Ville. It was a beautiful car. When my dad put it up on the hoist it was apparent the original exhaust system was shot. So together they priced out all the components to repair it.
It came to a lot more money than he had planned on spending. There was, however, replacement exhaust tubing for the resonators. And they were quite a bit cheaper than those
“Little mufflers in the back”. As I remember it was a pretty fair mornings work to change it all out. And the big mufflers were heavy to lift into place and twist around so they were exactly oriented the way they were supposed to be. For a 17 year old kid.

I received more tickets for my loud exhausts than for speeding way back....

Yup those were the days. Now when I think of those days I just go out n start up “ Old Blue “. 72 Chevy truck with a 402 n listen to it rumble for a bit while sitting n drinking a cold one

Still stuck on the BMW 507...

Agree, that SEEMS crazy, but $9000 invested in an S & P 500 fund in 1957 would be worth around $6.5MM(!!!), assuming reinvesting the dividends.

But yeah, beautiful car!

Our BMW experience: I had a ‘71 BMW R75/5 back in the day—65,000 miles, 30 states. Then kids happened. I sold mine, but Jan still has her ’81 BMW airhead that she bought new.

My dad bought a 1970 Monte Carlo with a 400 cubic Inch V-8. I was 16 at the time and thought I had died and gone to heaven. He had no problems letting me and my siblings drive it. Very quick car, at least compared to what we normally had to drive.
He didn't go for the instrument package, so as a result the gas gauge was where the tachometer would have been. The problem was the gas gauge was as big as the speedometer and moved just as fast when you punched it. Fun car but gas mileage not so much

Pre owned 2019 E19 on ETI website

Is the base of this unit on the build sheet (link below) in CA$

Shows $32,150 for a base price... For a 2019? Must be CA$ ??

Base for a 2022 is now US$ 32,625 after the 2 recent increases.

https://escapetrailer.com/wp-content...KC068419-2.pdf

They are asking US$ 36,500

A/C and custom fabric charge the only options

At the bottom of the Build Sheet, it specifies that all prices are in Canadian dollars. So in 2019 the price was C$32,150. Today an E19 is C$40,180, a 25% increase.

Currently the US-Canada exchange rate is about 80%. What was it back in 2019?

Thanks - missed that.

Pretty close: Not a bad return for a trailer investment............34% +/-

Of course, compared to what the US$ won't buy these days as compared to then....

Just listed our 2018 21C on Escape website

Hi everyone. Posting from Vancouver Island in BC Canada. The post will be up on Friday June 24, 2022. Thought I would add it in here as well. Very pristine condition with limited camping done in it. I used it briefly as an "extra" room for sewing etc until we converted a room in the house. Was a lovely creative space to work in. Asking $45,000 Canadian. Build sheet available on request. New 21C are starting at $47,395 with wait time to 2024. These are gems.

Alice,
I suggest you post 8 more times quickly to become a senior member and have private messaging capabilities, otherwise other potential buyers are limited in their responses.

When I was younger my friend always said:

I Found it On the Road Dead and Fixed Or Repaired it Daily only to Find Out it was a Rebuilt Dodge but now it's First On Race Day.

Funny thing is: He now only drives Dodge Trucks and a really super fast '67 Chevy Nova.
