I stay away from the big cities.
Found 2 Coleman tents last Spring in a state park dumpster while disposing of my trash. One was never used, still in original packaging. Donated it to St. Vinny’s.

My best last year was not a dumpster but when I took my recycling to the county dumpster some nice person had set off 96 Miller beer bottles next to the roll off instead of just tossing them. I hauled them home and on my next trip to the can shed tuned them in for $4.80. Which was halfway to a six pack of good beer. It’s almost like perpetual motion.

For anyone looking for me in site 123, I discovered it is a tandem site so I’ve relocated to site 64. Just look for a Missouri State Flag.

We're in 70 and our dog Diego is a rescue from MO, so if he wanders your way perhaps it's perhaps the flag, or the accent, ...

Years ago a nice lady attended a park conference I was at. She was bidding on the next years conference and she was from Keokuk in far SE Iowa she told of the great attractions, food, drink and hotel they had. She ended with “ So come to Keokuk next fall, but when you get near Keokuk slow down or the next thing you know you’ll be in Misery.

A while back Illinois had a tourism jingle "You put me in a happy state". Back then you could cross a bridge and be in a "Happy State" or the "State of Misery".

More like Accident. Iowa had a couple dandies too
One was IOWA A PLACE TO GROW. It was easy to vandalize that sign
Just had to put OLD on the end or as a nod to the Hemp grown in the early 40s for making rope, escaping cultivation and now called Iowa ditch weed just make the slogan IOWA A PLACE TO GROW DOPE.
I was always good with just THE TALL CORN STATE.

Eat more pork!

Isn't this the Iowa state motto?

I’ve always liked “where the rivers run”. Of course “ run over” happens a lot.

We too had a scheduling conflict come up so will not be able to attend this year's Mississippi Rendezvous. Cancelled our site already, 106 in HP01. Hope to see ya 'round or next year! Will especially miss the parade, sorry Rita!

The schedule for the rally is now out. See the posting above. The dog parade continues on Saturday morning, the dogs have all promised to be on their best behavior. New, this year we will have a movie night on Saturday. You will have to wait till registration to find what flick Tony and Darlene have picked out for us.

Registration will be at Site 41.

Question on fees while at the campground, is the camping fee the only fee or is there any additional day use fee? I have a lifetime Military pass and I understand that only covers entrance or day use fees but I don't know if folks that don't have either the senior pass or military pass have any additional fees to camp there? TIA

There is not a day use fee. Anyone can drive in. It is required to have a registration ahead of time to camp. It is not possible to book a site at the contact station. If you arrive and the contact station is closed (opens 4:00) you can setup camp but you do need to return and check in.

The Senior Pass gives a discount on camping. I am not sure of any other passes.
