Hi: Iowa Dave... I don't model in the cold weather. Come to think of it I've never had enough nerve to use the "Outside shower" either. Alf

I’ve got the nerve but no shower. Course we had open air gang showers in our pools so vanity went out the window pretty early in life. For a while I wondered why the police helicopter flew over the swimming pool parks so often. I finally figured it out. Then we demolished the four open air pools and built new ones. Those all had a roof. Police sold the copter Air Force and all was well after 50 plus years of show and tell.

Starting on the Escape repack after 10 days to the west. Taking out the bear spray, putting in the raincoat. Loading the Wellies, and the free tarp. Crossing the bridge with Cedar Ridge.
Gotta go down to the building and bring the ladder up so Rita can give her baby a bath.

Today she let me know there was a low limb on the Tulip Poplar that brushed the top of the 21.
One jobs I had was to train tree trimmers so though I thought my work was done, I guess I have one more student. I keep emphasizing on the job training and diversified education. Where’s that old 029 farm boss of mine.?.

Iowa Dave, Those trees can pose a hazard. Looking forward to seeing everyone soon. It's been way too long. Pandemics can put a crimp in things.

Bummer is our annual pot luck contribution of wrapped candy is no longer available. We’ll have to come up with something. Hmm

My doctor would be happy to hear that. At a checkup a couple months ago she asked me what i usually have for lunch I told her either chicken nuggets, fish sticks or hot dogs. She said “that’s the same thing my three year old eats. She advised a better diet for me. Later I got to thinking about it. I decided I should have said “well I’m good then because you certainly wouldn’t feed you own child anything that wasn’t good for him but it was too late. I had changed my diet that day and had a cheddar-wurst off the roller grill at the gas station and a 29 cents per pound banana. So I guess I better stock up on Halloween Kit Kats and those real cheap fake granola bars if we’re not going to candy land any more.

Hi All,
My wife and I are thinking of attending just for the day. Not bringing the 5.0TA as we just live on the other side of the border in Niagara Falls NY. Can anyone just walk in and look around or do we still need some sort of registration? Do other “brands” of moulded fiberglass show up too? Would be cool to see other models. Thanks!

Hi: Suregrip391... There is a day charge to get in by The Riverside Motel& CG, but it's only a few Canuck bucks!!! Lots of brands as we don't discriminate. We've even had a guy & his E17 from Buffalo and some folks come & stay in the motel to talk to real owners. Alf

Sounds good Alf… I appreciate the reply. Is there a special day/time that they are open for viewing and such? I think it was posted earlier, I’ll have to go back and look. I’d like to talk my father in purchasing a fiberglass unit so seeing others will be great!

Crossing the border

I received this information when we crossed the border at Sweetwater, Montana this summer. It is a good summary of what the U.S. customs is watching. I have not found any similar listing for crossing into Canada, but I can imagine the list would be similar.

Most people know about the restrictions on Guns, Alcohol, Tobacco and Marijuana. There are a lot of other restrictions on food products, souvenirs, and even musical instruments.

Meat:
Beef, Lamb, Pork, Goat and Seafood is allowed for personal use.
Poultry and eggs must be fully cooked or canned. No fresh poultry
Deer, Caribou and Moose with a hunting license and import permit is allowed, must be butchered by commercial processor

Pet food:
Must be in the original container. It can be opened if the pet is present. Raw pet food requires CFIA export certificate

Grains:
Rice, Soybeans, Chickpeas and Safflower seeds are prohibited from all middle eastern countries. Should be stored in the original container with country of origin clearly marked.

Firewood:
Firewood must have a heat treatment certificate

Fresh Fruit:
All citrus is prohibited.
Avocados with the seed or peal are prohibited
Fresh cherries are prohibited from Ontario
Bananas are allowed
Melons (cantaloupe, watermelon, and honeydew) are allowed
All other nuts and vegetables must contain packaging displaying the country of origin.
Honey is limited to 20 lbs. before special import certification is required.

Vegetables:
Corn-on-the-cob is unclear.
Potatoes must be free of soil and commercially packaged. Limit of 50 lbs. Home grown potatoes are prohibited.
Onions, leaks and/or chives are prohibited
All other root crops must be clean and free of soil.
Tomatoes and peppers are prohibited.

Plants:
All plants including houseplants, bedding plants and trees must have a Phytosanitary Certificate issued by the CFIA.
Seeds must have a Seed Analysis Certificate or Phytosanitary Certificate issued by the CFIA.
