I used this calculator. Not exactly sure it was the right one (there is a standard in state dealer calculator as well) but I got the same amount no matter which calculator I used. It appears to be calculated as your purchase price (in US $) * your sales tax rate plus a few fees. For some reason I had hoped that since it was imported from out of the country no sales tax would apply but that appears to be just wishful thinking!

Wishful thinking for CA tax man for sure! Those guys at Board of Equalization are on it. Had an audit once as a retailer and this manager guy brought up the analogy to the Redding, CA car dealers- that they would go out of business because of no sales tax in Oregon.

There will be an all molded towable rally held in Quincy, CA right after Labor Day. I already know of three Escapes that will be there, I'm one! Also a 19' and a 21'.

Yeppers, that's where it will be held. Earl will post more details on FiberglassRV, mid-April.

Welcome--we are newbies, too--will pick our 19 up in May. Love your yellow countertops, they look so fresh and make a smile come to my face, remembering my grandmother's cheery yellow kitchen! All the best to you in your travels. Peace~

congrats and welcome to the growing Nor-Cal community of escape owners

enjoy your 'break-in' trips, we spent several weekends at half-moon bay state beach ourselves.

our next adventure will be a week in Yosemite, hope that there is still water for the waterfalls

If one wants to see waterfalls in CA go to MacArthur Burney Falls S.P. They have a volcanic based underground river that is always running. Not far from Lassen National Park. Quincy not to far south.

This is what I was afraid of ...

On the plus side we won't need to worry about the kids getting washed away in the river

Welcome! The yellow is very pretty. There is a Scamp Camp Far West in May in Pine Grove, CA from the 14th thru 18th, but I don't know if there are any spots left. I will not be there as I will be attending a college graduation, but I know some of the people attending and they are so very nice!
You can check out the Scamp website:SOI Scamp Travel Trailer | Events | Forum | Resources | Scamp Owners International for more info.
Casita people have gatherings too!
It's nice to see more California Escapes.
Enjoy!

Tested her out over the last few weeks at Lake Pillsbury and Lake Sonoma, she did well, we learned so much about capabilities. Still need to unfold the awning. Happy with our purchase.
