Loving everyone's modifications! We're getting lots of inspiration

We decided to add the Springfield pedestal. It sounds like the Springfield will give us more leg room and help transform the Standard dinette into a bed area.

Thanks all for your tips and helping us decide!

Needing to make dinette into bed every night for a nylon play pen for our 3 little fur babies the Springfield is so much easier . After scratching our legs and the paneling removing those poles , Springfield , yes ! Also the table is more stable . Pat

Thumbs up Springfield mount

When we purchased our 2019 19' the Springfield was not an option. Got real tired real fast of putting down and up the two post system when we had our grandkids. Ordered the Springfield from Escape this past January and installed. I love it, offers more stability, more leg room and I don't cuss any longer when fighting the table.

Oh, man, I have lusted over that folding table top since I first saw it... maybe Mark's or someone else's? It's beautiful.

If you decide to get one at Marine Teak, get the folding (what Mark is showing) rather than the sliding version. I have the slide & it tends to jam both closing & opening. It always gets there, but can be a PIA.

After 2 years of use, I planed off the raised edge on the long sides. It was annoying on the arms & wrists when sitting & I suspect it its (was) there to keep stuff from sliding off in rough seas.

The sliding:

It appears the folding “Nautic Star Wing” also does not have the raised edge to worry about.

We just picked up our 5.0TA with the regular dinette. We had ETI install the Springfield pedestal and are happy with it. More space for feet than with two posts and very easy to raise and lower. The standard sliding table top is a bit wobbly but having the slider works great.

I needed to get down on the floor to work on electric fixtures and slid off the top after removing one of the stop screws in one of the tracks. We fussed way too long trying to get the top back on by matching up the tracks because there's very little room to maneuver the top to get it back on. We finally just unscrewed the Springfield from the floor and then had room to work the top back on before refastening the Springfield to the floor. Next time, I'm just going to leave the top on and unscrew the Springfield from the floor. Only took a minute with my drill and a Robertson square bit. Easy-peasy as they say.

do you have all four corners cut on the table with the back to front slide. Contemplating that on our build. Thanks.

Will Escape offer the Lagun as an option or will they install it if we provide it? Seems like having them install it will save the flooring from needing a patch.

Escape will not install. They told me this would have to be an after market modification. There seems to be a lot of information on the forum about doing this modification.

They won't install the Lagun, but you can tell them to not install a table at all. That way, no holes to patch and you'll receive all the table parts to do what you wish.

On my fishing trip last week I finally had enough of my pedestal table and removed it thinking I would decide on another to replace it when home.

I have a TV like tray I used for meals and I have the folding counter tops at both sides of the U dinette to place my coffee and such. Long arms are very handy here.

I made the discovery that my folding rocking chair fit the space perfectly and is much more comfortable then the dinette benches. Perfect for reading and watching TV, if I ever hook it up. Going to go with this setup for awhile and forget the new table

I should add that I travel alone so don't have to be concerned with seating, etc for two.

Jon V. another member travels solo in his new E21, but he stays on road like 8 month out of the year thus he carries a lot.

But I sure appreciate the additional space & storage compared to my 17!

Sometimes wish I still had the RAV4 & 17 since it would fit anywhere & could be backed into very tight spaces, but if nothing else, the addition of an oven makes up for it all.

I love the Srpingfield. Once set up good it is very stable, easy to make into a bed, and it allows the table to be turned around too.

I have the Dicor 4-way slider on it which makes it super adjustable in every direction.

At first I was concerned that we could not remove it should we want, and I planned to do something to easily remove it and the table top, but it just has never been something we want to do. For lounging without a table, we make it into a bed, use comfy cushions to sit up against and relax, though this has only been done a couple times. Most of our time is spent outside as long as the weather is decent.

We have a Springfield pedestal . It’s Okay but since we seldom lower our table , the cost is hard to justify.

I bought it just for stability, I only lower mine to check the batteries.
