Referral checks/bank problems
Hi gang. We just received our first referral check from Escape (in US dollars) and went to 2 banks neither of which would cash them. Said there was no routing number or some such jibberish. When our 19' was delivered, Tammy included a check for the exchange rate difference. We cashed it at the time and also found out that the bank deducted the amount from our account because that check also couldn't be cashed for the same reason. (NO, NO, NO, NO, NO! I'm not suggesting any fault with Escape!!!)
Anybody else have similar problems? Wondering what's up with the banks!
Don't get me wrong, love my trailer and Escape's a first class company but the world of international banking is perplexing.

I had no problem cashing mine at my local bank, seems to be your bank issue. All checks have routing numbers. Ask for a supervisor.

Some time back I received a check from them in USD for a repair I had done. My CU wanted to charge me $25 just to deposit it. I went to another CU and had no problem other than a delay of a few weeks to make sure the check cleared (no additional fees as well). I am still amazed that in today's electronic world these currency issues are still issues!

Escape sent me a check for a warranty replacement a few months ago, and they used their U.S. dollars account…I had no problem.

I found a bank that took the check (Wells Fargo). The teller scanned the check and their system rejected it but she said she'd send it through anyway because it was a deposit into our account. Strange.......
The first 2 said the check needed a US "pay through" bank which the check did not have.

The forest service had to euthanize two bears as they had eaten some Eastern European tourists. They wanted to know which bear had killed which person, but only had to do an autopsy on one bear. Obviously the female had eaten the Slovak, as the Czech was in the male.

My bank charged me $6.50 to cash the check or stole the money.

That may have been the exchange rate differential in effect then.
